Flogas delivery issues

Looking at Filllpg its dropped down to 59p since then, more likly 59.9 I'd guess really.

But even at 65.9p it is good as you say. Seems the Flogas delivery issue is a bit more regional as they have had gas on 2 of the last 3 times I've tried them there.

so thats a much bigger % for lpg than petrol , if they all drop 5 ppl ?

Looking at the rates, theres little difference, theres roughly 2kg to a litre of LPG so by the time you adjust the figures for that its around the same (If I've remembered that the correct way round!)

Yes you have, going down from 31.6p to 28.8p so a drop of 2.8p per kg. 1 litre weighs 0.51kg so a drop of 5.6ppl.

No LPG available round here at the moment but I had to go to within a mile of Northmead today (and they weren't answering the phone when I tried to call them) so called in on the offchance. Out of Service notices on the LPG pumps but I asked the girl if she knew when they would have a delivery and she'd been told one was due today but they hadn't given her a time. As the pump still said 64.9 I'll be there first thing in the morning but even if they haven't dropped the price it'll still be worth it......

Heh, only around 0.5kg to a litre of LPG mate lol! I bet you had it right in your head but wrote the fraction upside down?

Yes I got the conversion wrong way round, but the duty on your linked page is priced in per KG for LPG not litres? So its a drop of 1.4p a litre isn't it???

Durrr, probably, who knows? But other than the places that have been ramping their prices right up because they could, it's still be a lot cheaper than petrol at £1.65+ a litre.

Which one? Northmead was still 64.9 when I filled up yesterday and Autogas is still showing 64.9 (can't be bothered to wait for filllpg to load....).

It's Sainsbury's. Dropped down and went up couple of pence.

Either way, its still far cheaper than unleaded or the local to me station in the event it actually has any to sell at 99.9p. Which incidentally hasn't dropped at all even with the duty reduction, if anything its gone upwards.

Did drive past Baynards green this afternoon on the A43 to see Diesel at 192.9p a litre though

That's not fuel, that's diesel, only really good for getting bonfires started.....

As a rule of thumb we reckon on using 10% more LPG than we would petrol.

So if we can get LPG for (example Morrisons price) 72.9p it works out at the cost equivalent of getting petrol at 80,19p. 80.19p is less than half price of running on petrol that costs as low as £1.64 per litre... So in case of example prices of 72.9 versus (say) £1.65 we're saving better than 50%.

But even if we save far less than saving 50%- - these days we're still probably saving more than we ever have, even if we only save (say) 30%, because fuel prices all-round are higher. I.e. a smaller percentage (saving in percentage terms) can still work out to be a bigger money saving if the base price goes up, and indeed the base price has gone up. E.g in 2014 the average petrol price might have been around £1.30 and the average LPG price might have been around 73p (granted both cheaper in my area at that time). If we do 73p+10% (to account for using 10% more LPG than we would petrol due to lower calorific value of LPG versus petrol) we get 80.3p, this is versus the £1,30 for petrol, for saving of 49.7p per litre in real terms in 2014. But now in 2022 we're seeing the average petrol price at £1.65, most Morrisons (when they have it in stock and having stock is the issue of the moment) are still selling LPG for 72.9. If we do the 72,9+10% we get close to the same 80.3p but now it's versus petrol prices of £1.65 so now we save more than 84.7p per litre of fuel rather than the old 'good' saving of 49.7p. Even if you pay over 90p per litre for LPG you're still saving more than you used to save in 2013 by running on LPG instead of petrol due to the new higher petrol prices and your wages won't have increased enough since then to compensate for this difference... you're still saving more now by running on LPG than you were 8 years ago and 8 years ago you probably very much liked the savings on LPG. Compared to petrol LPG comes out on top now more than ever but this still doesn't completely isolate us from the fact that fuel prices in general are rising. And electric vehicle drivers can hardly laugh when their bills are likely to rise more in percentage terms than any other vehicle users fuel bills.

Yup i reckon real costs now 13 pence per mile ,versus 10 pence pr mile a year or so ago . Astra, not the Medusa entity .

Based on the 289 miles I've done upto filling the tank tonight at 62.9, its working out at 12.6p/mile for me currently (ignoring the startup on petrol). MFG price would be the equivilent of 20p/mile by comparison on the same amount

i am stuck in wales where the nearest is 93 p p l ! ugh even when i fond a cheaper one its 80 ppl at bisley .
