Most definitely, for the first time i can remember since being a kid, walking up a big hill without getting out of breath. Split a ton of logs no bother. And i seem to enjoy smoking an electronic cig.Well done on the smoking front. I am hoping that you are beginning to feel the benefits of stopping.
Mind i got some really good one, that appeals to my teccie side, you can set voltage, amperage, soft start, lead in, lead out to customise the perfect smoking experience ! Just carry a couple of 3.7v camera batteries about. Its ideal, don't know why all smokers haven't gone digital tbh... Not only cheaper but far, far better for you and loads more fun. Bit like a gas conversion though, you got some initial outlay. But it pays for itself over a few hundred hours !

Which one have you got Toby? I've got one (Clearsmoke I think it's called) but I don't use it and I still set fire to the real thing. I've found two drawbacks, it's tastes very strongly of nicotine rather than tobacco and it goes on forever. I have a totally wicked vape pro, with a nova tank.
I had a few issues initially, i was looking for a tobacco kind of thing initially, and decided i didnt really like all the tobacco flavours all a bit synthetic, so i went to ry4. Its kind of caramel. But not hugely sweet. Anything over 18mg of nicotine is too much. Tastes too 'nicotiney' i know what you mean by that. If you can customise your smoking by setting volts, amps, coil ohms and all that. Its worth sticking with because the health benefits far outweigh the messing about to get things how you want them.
I just smoke differently now, i probarbly 'vape' more than i used to smoke, more often, couple of puffs, put it down. Pick it up again. Or sometimes sit down with a brew, smoke half a cup and put it down.
I have to say, i vape everywhere though. Post office, tesco, pub, my device looks nothing like a fag.
Just some weird cross between a sonic screwdriver and an inhaler !

had 10min to spare so i had a read through your post.
is there not a governing body that oversees your trade ???
like the gas safe register ??
or fgas for air conditioning?
to be honest the problem is with every trade at present.
I started out as a plumber/gas engineer, then i was finding my self short of work in the summer,
so i went to night school and did a refrigeration and air conditioning course, so now i have work both in the summer in the winter,
but now i have recently done an electrical course so i can carry out electrical works,
gone are the days of being a single trade person as no one wants to get two people to do one job,
now i go to a site fit a gas boiler or air con unit then i can fit the power to them and charge cheaper than if they got two independent trades to do the jobs.
its a case of having to evolve with the times,
like you say tho people want everything for nothing.
its hard to earn a decent living now days if your an honest trades man.
just my two pence worth

Thanks Dave. We do have a supposed 'governing body' but there is no legal requirement. Personally I have all my work independently inspected. And I know a few other installers do also. But that's more for insurance companies than anything else really.
This is the thing. What it boils down to is that we are indeed 'honest' tradesmen who are having the rug pulled from under us by more unscrupulous (can't really call them tradesmen) operators. Shaving prices, cutting corners and showing scant disregard for the code of practice.
So we are looking at putting a network of installers together. It's either that of pack in entirely. I also have me fgas. Bit scarce for ac this year. I was also a corgi registered fitter many moons ago. But none of this is required to fit LPG on cars.

as for the fgas tbh its a bit of a joke, as joe blogs can go to halfords and buy him self a bottle and just top it up,
so how is that controling ???
i was suprised when i did my 17th eddition there is no real control over people carrying out electrical works
all a bit odd
but now you need a dam ticket to use a ladder on a site !!!

As a tattoo studio owner and in the trade 15 years I feel your pain! Where there used to be a majority of serious craftsmen (and, granted, a few not so gifted) there are now a thousand and one bodgers doing horrible work, free of conscience and skill... working on the cheap.
The equipment used to be available only to those in a licensed shop and generally having served an apprenticeship. Ergo, with a little research you could find a serious artist to do you a piece to be proud of or, at the very least, hygienically.
The advent of open season on the equipment on 3bay and 4mazon means that any fool with £60 quid for a tattoo kit can "have a go"! It beggars belief that anyone would allow a muppet to pollute their blood and skin with ham-fisted scratching but they do! Daily! A fair part of the trade we do is fixing and covering mistakes and amateur scribbles. Some from places that have opened in the last few years, many from kitchens and bedrooms throughout the uk. No thought for cross-infection or straight lines!
These kitchen wizards have damaged the trade of the good places who have put their time in over many years. The hagglers come in and try their "I can get it cheaper...." more and more frequently. It's a very frustrating time!
Of course the flood of eastern european workers has also impacted tattooing as it has in many other trades. Fair play - some of those guys are great artists, credit where it's due, but these boys generally don't open a place with any regard to who's already there, they'll open on the same street as a guy who's been there 30 years! This sort of thing NEVER used to happen.... anyway, soapbox back in the cupboard! Just to say, you're not alone!
