where to put injectors (holes in manifold)

I know! I know! Makes more sence but i didnt have 995 quid i only had 500 and i couldnt afford the 995 id still be saving now or i would have spent it on other things lol. At lease this way i get the satasfaction off doing it myself i gess. Need to get on with it though! Cars running @!## though :/

Dont worry, im sure every gas converter on the planet has been there at one time or another. Its always a risk you run when you take manifolds off and put them back on. Sometimes they feel like they are seated correctly and they arnet.
If you have an obd reader the fuel trims will tell you if its an air leak or not. Back to the drawing board after that. Finding it. Maybe worth removal, refitting and very careful inspection along the way.

i have an op com tool which should show me the fuel trims, ill post them up

the manifold gasket looked brand new and its clamped down nice and tight so it shouldn't really be leaking from there
im sure its down to the fact that my manifold is in 2 half's and i had to seal it when i put it back together
im considering removing some of the bits around it and trying to push more quick gasket around the seam to try seal it and then using some spray seal to spray around the manifold to head joint to fill in any tiny gaps since i cant get there with my finger really

doing this while the car is on should cause it to draw the sealant in although i dont want it to get drawing right into the actually engine! just the gap lol

how sensitive is the car going to be to vacume leeks. its running rough but runs ok. should i expect to find one big leak that fixes it?

i dont really know what to do now to be honest!

my only other idea is:

buy new nozels
drill and tap my old manifold which is down the shed and install new nozels

ill do all this without spliting it

i will try and clean this one up as well although i wount be able to do as good off a job with it in once peice

i painted my last manifold but quite frankly don't care about that any more i just want it to work
aesthetic can get lost

I'd be careful using instant gasket and the likes... It can cause more problems using it, using too much or not allowing the "setting" time, usually there is a time that you should leave it alone to start to cure then compress it when putting back together.

Also, thinking back am not sure i've ever used gasket glue where there is a paper or rubber gasket on air intake's, only on water pump and housing is where i've used it in the past.

iv uses it on my gearbox and my thermostat housing and its worked well.
this time i left it till it was touch dry and the outside was solid but the inside off it was still liquid, however the instructions do say it can be fited wet. although just because it can dosnt nesaseraly mean its better dose it

i talked to tinley tech and they said they can get my new nozzles but there 8 quid plus 5 quid postage so im just going to remove my current ones from this manifold and replace with bolts

iv got a new gasket for 6 quid (insted off vaux 22 quid)

im just not confident that im going to be able to recreate the seal that it had when it cam out the factory so my solution is to not break the seal lol

just reiterate the seal it comes with is a rubbery one thats been squirted in all be it with more pressison than me lol

it also means i can have another go at drilling and tapping

all is not wasted though
iv learnt alot about my car and cars in general
i hadn't realised how important it was to get a good seal and that vacume leaks effect the engine so much!

right another weekend on this dame car (did i mention i hate lpg?)
i took the new manifold off and took out the spuds.
drilled the old manifold. cleaned it without taking it apart. covered all the joints in silicone sealant. drill an extra pilot hole by mistake so filled that with silicone.
refited the old manifold with all new gasketes

car ran like a dream...for about 5 mins.

toped up he cars oil (and spilt loads on the driveway )
then car started poping a little bit. cheeked round the car.
theres a nice water leek from the manifold even thought the brand new nuts are tight

noticed a little puddle (huge puddle) at the top off the manifold and thought it was odd the watter was coming out there then on no wait thats petrol pissing out the fuel rail.

so new o ring fixed that. then tighten the manifold as much as i could and yeah no more water leek

car running ok but i thought maybe the water was leaking into the engine because it was still poping
went to reading and pack which is a good hours drive each way.
got home and car had been running great but was poping so much.
checked coolant. same level. then started checking injectors and found it

my car had eaten the silicone that was covering the whole (yes it was dry)

im happy because i know whats wrong with it butim not sure what to cover it with now lol
mabey araldite and let it seal. mabey even some fiberglass filler

Or a self tapping screw coated in gasket sealer not silicone goo. The only place for silicon goo is around the bath and shower, not under the bonnet of a car, use Hylomar instead.

the holes only 3mm wide though
i dont want to make it any bigger just so i can stick a sellf tapper in it

ill see if i can find some 2.5 or M3 bolts at work and grind it down so it fits in the whole nice a snug then glue over it

As it is an ally manifold, solder it, especially as it is a small hole.

the manifold would act as 1 big heat-sink, need a big soldering iron for that

Metal stick would be the best bet.

Remeber that silicon kills lambda sensors.

i do actually have a huge soldering iron but i dont think that would even be big enough

id have to braze it with a torch and while i could do this i would have to use a blow touch next to and around the fuel rail which dosent make me very happy lol

its sorted now though. i managed to find a little screw that cut itself a thread into the hole then used a little PU based sealant just to make sure

aparent its the gas from the silicon that kills them
since mu car has eaten the silicon i dont think it will be a problem

and where do you think that silicon has ended up after it's been eaten? It's been sucked into the intake, burnt and then spat out the exhaust port straight at the lambda sensor.

yeah but it probably not stuck to the lambda its probably sitting in my cat so any fumes it gives of go down the exhaust pipe
ether way its only a tiny little bit lol

Come on Josh, mine only took 3 months and 3 attempts to get each part right.
It's playing up now, might buy a King kit and keep/swap bits for spares to find what is nacked.
