Third fuel pump in 7 month. Is the LPG at fault?

Woody, Nice to see you back. The only cases of burned out pumps I have seen or heard of all involve a nearly empty tank for long periods. Your idea is just as valid and this could be the case with some cars, LPG operation only serving to muddy the water. BTW Robert, 'Petrol' has also included LPG in the past (don't know about now) to inmprove its vaporisation characteristics.

LPG is in liquid petrol. If an amount of petrol is left to evaporate the higher ends will "gass off" leaving the lower ends which are more like diesel or kerosene. This is why contamination of petrol with diesel providing it is not to much will still run a petrol engine. However not recomended because the octane rating will be lowered. Diesel fuel contaiminated with petrol will still run a diesel ok but the injection pump will not be lubricated properly. Rolls-Royce used to put compression plates between the cylinder head and the block on 6 cylinder cars destined to areas of the world were petrol quality was bad. CR ratios as low as 5:1 were used.
