Important: The Future of the Forum
Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
Dave,
I just called my son, I read out your techy post on the pub forum to him and he understood it all (taking notes as I read), I've since emailed him that post. He'll be emailing you.
Cheers, Simon.

Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
Hi Simon,
Your son has indeed reached out and I will be getting back to him shortly
It's good to be finally getting this process moving and I'm sure the community will be happy that someone in the community is taking it on - I don't have an LPG vehicle - haven't for over a decade now
I'll post updates along the way - probably in a new thread
Cheers

Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
Hi All,
We're now finished with the migration and I'm now running the forum. At the moment new users are permitted to register again, I'm aware there have been issues with spammers before so I have updated to a newer version of reCaptcha for the site and if we see an influx of spammers again I'll see what other levers we can pull before closing registration as before.
As part of the migration, you may have noticed the email address that forum emails are delivered from has been updated to "mail<at>lpgforum.co.uk".

Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
Thanks Edward - a very smooth transfer.
I hope all goes well going forward but feel free to contact me if you need to and I will do what I can to help.
May the odds be forever in your favor

Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
That was a lot less painful, for the users anyway, than I expected. Spammers aren't too much of a problem, probably not more than 1 a week that needs to be disapproved. I'm permanently logged in and just refresh a couple of times a day, so see anything that needs dealing with.

Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
Well done Dave and Edward and good luck for the future of what could be the oldest and original UK LPG forum. Feel free to remove my admin access.
I now bid you farewell and adieu.

Thanks Damian, if I knew how to remove admin access I might, but as I don't, then you'll keep it. Call it honorary membership if you like. You never know, one day you may want to come back.....

Re: Important: The Future of the Forum
Hugely appreciate the time and effort that goes into administrating this forum and to those experts that give advice and support. Without this, my Jeep Grand Cherokee would without doubt be running on petrol instead of LPG! It would be a shame to lose this valuable resource.
