You may be wrong on that mate. Depends on the year. Ever tried running a sequential injection system full group ? Discounts some that. Including BRC and some Eastern European tat.

I had a look at Prins, and frankly, it looks like I either have a choice of spending £200 more for more or less the same (decent electronics, cheap injectors, which they don't name), or to pay £1700, which is more than I feel comfortable with, to get the real deal, with injectors that I've seen described as "too reliable to be worth it for a used car". On a car like this, are Keihin injectors worth it? Is £1750 a sensible price? If I go for their lower cost installation, I only get 6 months warranty on the injectors, whereas MLJ are offering 2 years, for less initial outlay.

Prins is probably overkill, cheapo Polish systems may not work on your car as it is full group (it fires all the petrol injectors at the same time rather than sequentially) but any of the AEB based systems will work fine. However, it isn't only the kit, it's how it is installed that is important. Don't go for an installer that tells you it will be done in a day, it will be rushed and won't be set up properly. The setting up takes time, particularly on an older car that doesn't have OBD connectivity. I assume the cheaper deal you have been offered is the Prins Silverline? I would expect that system to work fine and last as long as the install is done properly with the injectors mounted correctly and not laying down or pointing upwards.

You are looking at most of the AEB based systems or KME/AFC sor full group engines.

I'd personaly not bother with the Prins silver line system, the only thing that makes prins good is the injectors and without those you are getting all the disadvantages without any gains. If you are going for prins go for teh real deal.

Its hard to say go to X place and they will do a good job at a reasonable price because I don't think anyone here has personal experiance of a good installer in your area.

Ludlow, in Shropshire mate ! Telfords a bit of a dive, other than ironbridge. That's all quote nice and lost worldly. Not anywhere near as nice as Ludlow though.

It was also the capital of wales 1463-1569. Quite a while ago think its cardiff now. Apparently it was also mac at one point. They like to move it around a bit dont they ?

Cardiff is capital of South Wales. Relisticaly Capital of North Wales is Liverpool!

Yes that would be a good idea. And make sure they are planning to use a good sized reducer as well.

What would count as "good sized"? I have nothing to go on here.

One rated for a maximum power greater than your car can produce. You don't want to try to run a 250 bhp car on a reducer rated for a maximum of 200 bhp, you want a reducer rated for at least 20% more than your car produces to give a bit of headroom.
