What is wrong with mounting injectors upside down? I've seen pictures of injectors mounted in various planes. Is that wrong? I mounted mine on the slant (slightly uphill). I'll have to change them if they aren't supposed to be mounted that way.
Are Valtek 34s any better than Valtek 30s?

Ideal is mounted vertically but if mounted on the slant they want to have the outlets pointing downwards so any heavy ends in the gas (a waxy liquid that is dissolved in the liquid gas to lubricate the filling pumps) dribble out and gets burnt. If the outlets are facing uphill then it stays in the injectors and clogs them up. They will also wear faster if mounted anything other than vertical.

Worlds apart, 30's are the cheapo of the cheapo, 34's are significantly better.

Wot he said

:lol
You cant really compare the 30's with the 34's they are a completely different animal. Just because they are made by the same company they are so utterly different there is no way of making any kind of comparison. In the right application the 30's can quite happily run and run as long as its nothing too taxing. You see them everywhere, and the failure rates are comparatively low...but you cant expect them to be capable of handling any application. Unlike the 34's.

Right, thanks for the info. I will have to change the orientation to horizontal. Unfortunately vertical is not possible on my car. Horizontal may make them wear a bit faster but I haven't any choice. I should be able to make it so they aren't upside down though.

Depends what you are trying to do really. But don't expect them to be capable of high outputs, i don't wholly understand it with OMVL tbh. They should be the market leader, the core business is things like thermocouple's, jets and solenoid valve's for domestic and industrial boilers. It would stand to reason they can make a flawless gas injector.

Install them on my 4.0L jeep eventually hopefully if they are any good, if not then need to fit something that will do the job.

I have the reg fast on my picasso, they work! that is all i can say really as am not sure if the poor mpg is my map / injectors / or something on the petrol ecu wrong!
It's a low mileage car tho so am not too worried about them, but i am thinking of replacing them and the king ecu to a king with odb, at least then the map will be right and not throw my MIL on all the time!

It's not a miracle cure. It won't overcome faulty or worn out or incorrectly adjusted or selected or installed parts or software options. It won't do anything better or faster than a decent manual set up. It's your money of course

The reg fast are absolute carp
Far, far better than any valteks(apart from 34)all they need is good filter(as every solenoids on market)
Hana ? All a bit new. Just because they are copies of keihin's does not make them good. Its like the difference between a hinda and a honda.
Just because you never used them doesn't mean they're not good.New? don't think so, maybe for UK market, they start make them 1998(Korea).
As for longevity its too early to say really.
Had them for 3 years in my Passat 1.8(from 2007), curently in Audi A8 covered nearly 24000 miles, no problem whatsoever...

AC Stag ECU are more capable than the AEB ECUs and far easier to setup IME. Prices, in spite of what UK might suggest, are almost identical between Stag and AEB kit. Having tried both Stag and AEB, I'd go with the Stag.
I'd buy the cheaper "300 ISA2" version rather than the "300 Premium" version though, as the OBD connectivity wasn't that useful.
HANA injectors work well down to low pulsewidths and aren't particularly affected by temperature; can't say the same for MagicJet injectors. I'd buy the Valtek 34s (same as Emer 34s) on a rail next time though, because the HANAs were a pain to mount/find space for.
I've used KME Gold and Tomasetto Arctic reducers. I wouldn't use either again: The KME is enormous and the layout of the pipework is a pig, though it hasn't drifted as some suggested they were prone to. (only 5k so far mind) The Tomasetto Arctic was a piece of cake to mount/well thought out but doesn't respond that well (pressure dips/spikes at gearchanges). Ask the pros which to use here!

The zavoli reducer is very good. Not used the magic ones much myself but i know a few installers that swear by them.
As far as the aeb vs stag thing goes i think thats personal preference at the end of the day. Personally i prefer aeb stuff, always preferred a leo over any other lambda controller too. There are limitations, like no connectivity for uego sensors, but if you have a k line connection it doesnt really matter, as long as you can get some fuel trim feedback its not entirely needed. Im just trying to think of anything else that limits the Aeb ecu.....bit bulky i suppose.
Stag ? Not sure you can blend petrol. Smaller unit, personally i dont find them as user friendly. Also im not sure if they are ok with valvetronic or multi air applications.

This is getting way too deep at answering the original question. The OP wants to know what is the best kit for a novice DIY install in, I assume, a not particularly demanding vehicle. What he is going to want is something that is easy to install and set up. The finer points of the amount of control, what injectors a particular controller supports and the like are irrelevant. He wants to go out and spend his money on something that will go in easily enough and work straight from the box. He's just asking which he should spend his money on, not what mix and match bits he should buy.

Thanks for thinking about if I would be overwhelmed or not Gilbert but whilst most DIYers would just want a simple answer, I actually wanted the extra info.
If I put together another system for my old man. I would like to make a good system that will work well and last well too. So choosing the right injectors, reducer and ECU is important to me. He won't want to spend a fortune but then again he won't be too pleased if it is unreliable or uneconomical due to me picking the wrong parts. So please keep the info coming.

A good 'budget' system would be a king ecu, zavoli zeta and magic jets. Depending on the engine size.
What car are you planning on fitting it to ?

The kit would do nicely, but for ease of fitting may I suggest 34's ? Just because of the rail mounting. A 4 and a 2 rail. Or 2x3. They line up quite nicely across the front of the plenm. Don't forget the flashlube. Electronic type ideally.

I saw all of those but as I said two of them do not show any FULL kits complete with tank, valves etc.
Buying a front end kit is all very well but if you have to add a few hundred quid to get a tank, pipework, valves/level sensor, filler kit, p-clips, adaptors, interface cables etcetera ad nausium.
What initially looks like a good price, ends up being prohibitively expensive and you're forever having to down tools to go and order yet another part that you hadn't thought of.
I just want to buy a complete kit with everything I need.
Tinleytech have the right idea, just I don't know whether the old man would be willing to shell out £900.
It was this that gave me the impression that your not confident in getting everything together before starting and therefore just wanted a FULL kit not a mix and match and make your own kit.
If you want the best of everything then you will have to buy the ecu and vap and injectors and all else to make up itself, unless you spend £900 on a full kit from tinley who will be supplying you a decent kit.

Thats very true, the bigas system is a very good system. Infact one of the longest legged systems i have fitted is bigas. Its been on a mates car for well over 200k so far...7 years and counting. Not a peep of trouble, and its an early gen ecu too.
Not hard to make a kit list though,
Front end kit :- reducer, ecu (should come with switch, looms and pressure sensor), injectors, nozzles for injectors, reducer temp sensor, gas pressure sensor, filter solenoid if not integral to the reducer, vapour filter, 4mm lpg hose, lpg vapour hose 10-12 mm, 16mm coolant hose. 2x water tees and jubilee clips. You will also need some spring clips for the 4mm lpg hose, minimum of 14.
Back end :- centre torroidal tank, multivalve to suit and a level sender. 6mm to poly 8mm (faro elbow) 5x8mm faro straight ends if the solenoid isnt integral to the reducer 3x8mm if it is, recessed bayonet filler. And 10 p clips. Oh and about 8mtrs of 8mm faro pipe.
Thats the lot i think.

Yes I can see how that appears. Sorry about that. I should have explained a bit better. I am looking for a kit, but I am interested in the various components. While I would like to buy a full kit,
I can look for a kit that is the closest match to my ideal kit. I could look for a kit with Stag ECU, valtek 34s and zavoli zeta reducer or near as possible for example.
But from the info you guys have given me I would stay away from kits with:-
valtek 30s,
magic jet injectors,
KME gold,
Tomassetto Arctic,
And for financial reasons I would stay away from:-
BRC
Keihin
Prins
I'm a firm believer in having as much info as possible. So please pardon my slightly misleading intro and feel free to keep on adding more info.
However it would seem that my hopes of finding the kit I want at the price I want may require some compromise.
