Is there any way we could guess that !!

Good luck with the looksee, hate getting head backwards under dash, usually makes me sick.
No, but never having seen an installation guide to a single point system I wondered if original wiring diagrams suggest this route rather than hunting for an alternative battery post, especially if battery in the boot as on Merc. Hoped an installer would set me right having aview of the circuit diagram I gave a link to.

I'll probably have neck ache for weeks not being quite as flexible as in my youth, but hey ho its fix the problem or a 1200 mile return drive to France in the MR2 and that will give me SERIOUS pain, I suspect!

Have run new battery cable to ECU and lights come on, on the switch. First attempt at switch over when car stationary, car died. Maybe it is too low on LPG so will put some in this evening. If that doesn't solve it then I suspect unit will need be reset after its lack of 12v power - Richard!

Couldn't discover where the actual battery lead had been linked in as it would have meant disturbing all the fuse bank cables. Perhaps is was linked to the now defunct immobiliser. Decided not to mess with the immobiliser as okfor petrol, and Power via the ignition switch is getting through.
Fingers crossed its lack of fuel - all lights showing on switch unit. Wouldn't bet on it however. Will report closure -hopefully.

It may be a lack of gas, it may just be that it's been unused for so long it didn't get through to the cylinders before the petrol was switched off. Try it two or three times, if it still dies, it probably is out of gas (or you've disturbed a wire to the solenoid valves and now they aren't opening.....). A Leo doesn't normally lose any settings if left without power, my spare sits in the boot of the car from one month to the next and has always kept it's settings. I'm not about for the next ten days or so, I fly to India tomorrow.

Delighted to report that "the Barge" is cooking on Gas after 20 litre fill.

Running beautifully and as you suspected Richard.

Thats great and also the benefit of an annoying immobiliser seemingly kaput so that I don't hold everyone up in the garage and can return to being a good getaway car!

Have a great trip to India, Richard. Looking at the current TV series on that nation what a cheerful people in adversity. The welfare state has done for this Country, I fear! oops ignore that last comment everyone.
