How big is the hole that the cable and pipes go through? That shouldn't have a grommet in it as it should be open to allow any leakage from the multivalve to dissipate out the underside. This assumes that you have the gastight lid to go on the top of the tank.

What diameter is that threaded bar that holds the tanks in?
The filler height may be your downfall but I would ask that question when you visit a UKLPG installer, it depends how they interprit things. You need to shop around and find someone that is easy going and will have a quick look at your car , point out the obvious problems, let you fix them, then inspect it like my inspector did. Well worth £100 odd quid considering the responsibilty of the job.
The filler is not too hard to move anyhow, good luck.

When I had mine inspected I had a "discussion" about the pipe security

Tried failing it as it was secured by LPG P Clips every 300mm or so and also the Vx clips. He tried telling me it should be every 150mm but I happened to have a copy of COP 11 with me
He did comment that it was very tidy and neater than his "Professional" conversions, which I have to agree with having seen his work

its same like you put your car on mot, every garage will find different things, like i put my old renault laguna ,they find so many things, than i try other garage fail only on wiper blades, next year i try same garage but different man check, again new story i was told car its to rusty need lots of welding, than i try again other garage no faults.....after year my parents come to visit me from lithuania,my father have renault espace 1994 ,and car starts having big bang in suspension when you braking,we put to garage just check whats wrong, and because check price same as mot i say go for mot, he found some bushes worn, but the funyest thing was that they say the car is very rusty, because when he banging with that little hammer around all cars body its sounds different, than normal,,,but he dont know that renault espace its made from fiberglass ,
i thinking to leave the car for welding just for fun ,but ..........,but after long talk i dont pay for mot....save 40 pounds
well if you find rust on plastic,no wonder when you go for mot with lpg they try to rip off,,
from now i stand next to my car when they check, dont trust at all ...

I think you ought to stop now. You've starting to show how little you know about cars. The outer body panels on an Espace are injection moulded glass reinforced plastic but the monocoque that these panels are riveted to is steel. None of these panels are structural so would not even be checked on an MoT. The monocoque is actually hot dip galvanised steel but the effects of the galvanising is only good for about 10 years, after then it has eroded away due to galvanic corrosion and the steel rusts.
How do I know? The Espace is actually made for Renault by a compnay called Matra Automobile SA (if you don't believe me, check what it says on the VIN plate) and I used to run the owners club for sports cars made by Matra. I've been to the factory where they are made as a guest of the company twice and seen the entire manufacturing process.

seriously?
the center base plate has been cut in half, (from top to bottom of pic)
the washers over lap the cut, you can see the fluff of the boot floor under the multivalve

well that answers the question to why its like that, but seeing the welds dont go all the way around whats is there, and can't see any lid mounting points, and the half moon baceplate, its not a certifyable tank,
ps i know my spellings bad i'm dislexic, before anybody trys to pull me up on that again

The half moon shape is halfway up the tank. The proper plate is at the bottom. The lid's securing screws go into the the half moon. No new tank needed.
It does look like it needs better securiing bolts though. And looks like the washers obstruct the lid screwholes.
Also looks like the solenoid is earthed to the tank, not really acceptable if so, as the tank should be sitting on a resilient pad or suchlike.

I think you're right - I thought I could see specky painted steel but now that does look like felt down there.
The half-way half-moon is as it came, but surely no-one would fix the tank using spindly long bolts if there were a substanial bottom plate. I guess they didn't bother with the bottom closing lid just as they didn't bother at the top lid because of the dangly wire.
I've been looking for pics of this style tank to see if there should be top+bottom lids, but can't find any - have a feeling it is an old BRC or ICOM.
Anyways, no matter it's been condemned apparently? No markings, old age?
