Is it me or is there profiteering going on again? LPG at Shell Boston has gone up by 4ppl overnight! It was 49.9ppl and now it's 53.9ppl. I was so surprised I didn't even fill up. Just got £5-worth and will fill up tomorrow in Grantham where the Total Garage is still 48.9ppl

In all probability simply down to the @!## exchange rate due to the moron's handling of the UK economy. AFAIK LPG prices are source are still dependant on the petro-dollar. Petrol prices have been creeping up .. no reason LPG prices won't as well.

Another reason could well be that, due to the cold weather more LPG is being purchased for the business/domestic market, so wholesale prices are rising as demand increases and supply decreases.... standard economics ..

Which is odd, when you think it's completely unrelated to natural gas, and is a by-product of oil extraction & refining.

Yep, my local Shell (in Barking) went up from 47.9p to 50.9p... Then to top it, I popped down road to nearby Sainsburys where they still have it at 48.9p, but the pump was out of order! Grrrrr...

Got a Flogas nearby in Dagenham, shall have to give them ago. They seem to be open from 7am, so I'll try popping over before I go to work.

the price is related to petrol prices for sure, a friend works for Shell and confirmed this. Shell UK sets the price regardless of the delivery price to them. And as petrol prices are currently rising so are gas prices

luckily my local tool hire shop at work hasnt put their prices up yet, so still geting it at 48.9ppl how long that will last...who knows!

I have recently enquired about having a tank at our premises, and Flogas quoted me 32ppl + VAT + duty which brings it out o around 40ppl.

If I use more LPG the the price comes down, so how much are some of the bigger players paying for it?

the Profit on petrol for a garage is minimal, but it would seem that a lot of companies are jumping on the bandwagon as the popularity of LPG increases.
