ECU Swap - Wiring question

Hello everyone, long time and all that...

Am selling my Hyundai it has the King ECU - 4 cylinder metal version with OBD, and seen as this has a more advanced mapping am thinking of putting it on my Citroen C4 which has the basic plastic King model 4 cylinder again, and I believe some issues are due to the map not being as flexible for this as it's a 57 plate.

Am i right in thinking these share the same wiring plugs to the ecu so I can just do a straight swap without having to do the whole loom etc? and then just do a re map on both afterwards?

You would also need to add the OBD wires to the plastic ecu wiring loom but other than that the swap is plug and play

Thanks, yeah I thought that the OBD would be missing but am not bothered about it as it's disconnected on the Hyundai due to it interfering and causing more problems than it solved for me!

Will be swapping them over tomorrow then!

Well it gets interesting, the plastic box to metal harness has worked, remapped and it's fine although having very little gas confused me as it was bleeping on a test drive so I thought it was a fault at first...!

But metal one to plastic harness won't work, the error is Tank Solenoid Error, so am guessing it's trying to detect the 2 solenoids when on the cheap version you only get one output, can't see anything in software to change it other than dedicated wire and I've turned that off without success.

So it looks like I'll have to put a new harness in, which it needs because it no longer fits in with the petrol ecu and will have to be located elsewhere but not concerned about doing that as it's a better ecu so should be worth it...

Am going to strip the wiring back and look at it, but is someone going to tell me straight off there head which wire will be wrong for it?... or do i need to swap a pin or something, it's only a stop gap measure really for a week whilst I get a new loom...

well... false alarm! I did a full ecu reset on the metal version, put all the settings back in and calibrated it and it's working fine, just got to do the fine tuning to get the trims better and all is done - well until I get a new loom and move it to a better place as it's currently resting on the top of the air box!

Yeah this caught me out, as the plastic box ecu use to be in with the engine ecu and fuse box, I now can't turn it around to fit in so need to try and work out if it will fit with a new loom or if not move it elsewhere - at least it will be easy to rewire as I only have to solder one to one ad have the colours already done etc!

Is there anyone who would be cheap for a new loom or it is just the usual suspects?
