The differences mentioned are less than say, using the aircon or not. I could make a case that "upmarket" Prins systems are more likely to end up in upmarket cars, driven by flashier folk less inclined to drive gently or turn the aircon off to save pennies ...

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread - but I'm also looking at conversion of a similar Kia Cee'd 1.4. JLM (what the local installers use instead of Flashlube) is a certainty if I do it; but judging by the comments here it might be a significant risk even with JLM?

Gilbertd, Versus is polish designed and engineered but the ecu is thought to be AEB based with modification by Versus.

As this thread has been bumped I will clear this one up. Versus has no connection with AEB whatsoever.

I would keep to flashlube on a know problem engine. The JLM kit will be fine to use but I would use the flashlube oil in it as the results with Flashlube are known.

There are a few cars on the caution list that with a decent system do not suffer any issues but as an installer you would be leaving yourself open if you do not fit valve saver to any car that is on that list.

No problems classicswede, you know we don't agree about versus. It doesn't concern me at all if its not aeb based.

I have found the versus ecu excellent in reliability, no problems in nearly 4 years - the best an aeb system can do is to match that.

That isn't poor quality, it's precise engineering. It's the difference between calculating the precise quality required that will cope with unleaded petrol but nothing with any less lubricant, and building to that spec, and not simply over engineering it. It's like you are building a garden swing for your kids. You'd build it in wood or lightweight steel tube so it is strong enough to take their weight, you wouldn't make it from 8x6 inch steel girders that you could hang your car from because that would be over engineering.

Almost certainly! Even then, the frame from a cheap ToysRUs swing will take the weight of a small 4 cylinder engine (don't ask me how I know.......), but not for long......
