LPG in the Midlands

Hello has anybody had a lpg conversion done on a Nissan 350z or a Nissan 350GT? If so have you had any problems..

I have been speaking to the following installers..

Do any of you know of them?

• Tubbs of AutoIndygas
  
  H and H autos (also known as Envirogas) in Henley in Arden between Warwick and Stratford
  
  Gasotronics in Bewdley Worcestershire

To be fair I have emailed Tubbs and he has been very helpful so far but my insurance are being a bit of prats and given the policy I have they want me to get a copy of the public liability insurance before any work is carried out and to ensure that I pay a deposit via card before going ahead with the conversion.

I am aware Tubbs doesnt take card payments otherwise I would probably go with him as he has a good rep and some very satisfied customers on this forum..



I also spoke to Hilton Auto Services in Wolverhampton but they says they are unable to undertake the conversion on that vehicle due to valve care issues.

Any help appreciated on the other installers or any others you know of that could probably do it...

I have a credit card machine now, but....the one payment I have taken on it still hasn't showed up. Took 7-10 days normally. But I didn't realise you had to pay a quid into the bank with a reference number. Didn't find that out until the 7-10 days had gone. And that takes 14 days.
Its a frigging nightmare tbh.. But its a good rate as long as you put more than 3k through a month. Goes down to 1.6 % from 2.8. But it's the same for debit cards. So I will have to be careful.
It's not got a monthly fee though, links up to your phone. I had to get a credit card solution sorted. I did a conversion for a maths exam adjudicator. He had a 0% credit card for 12 months. And a mileage allowance worked out the mileage allowance would pay off all the fuel and the conversion in under 11 months. Clever boy ! But he had to pay by card. Not that I've seen the money yet.

Speaking as soneone who knows this industry well, go back to your acquirer and challenge the rate for Debit Cards. You pay a percentage for Credit Card acceptance because money is being lent by the card issuer to your acquiring bank so you can (hopefully!) get paid in the requisite period. But Debit Card transactions are "instant cash" transactions so you should only pay a fixed fee (c.40p) to cover the transaction costs only.

You could also consider allowing people to pay directly via Faster Payments - cheapest and quickest of all.

I took some money through PayPal the other day. That was quick and easy and the money transferred within a couple of hours.

PayPal are certainly an option (albeit expensive), but you might also want to consider any of the Independent Sales Organisations as an alternative to your bank. They act as an intermediate aggregator for small SMEs like yourself. They then present high volume transactions to the acquiring banks who charge lower fees, often similar to that available to large corporates. The ISO can then pass these on to the SMEs. It can be 30-40% cheaper than going direct to your bank. Companies like Card Cutters, Payfficiency and Consolis amongst others are who you should be Google-ing.
