Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 running Vogels LPG System

I have a friend looking at buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the 5.7L V8 that's had a Vogels LPG system fitted. Vogels isn't a name that I have come across very much, so what do our experts think of this manufacturers system? Can it cope with the demands of the big V8? Anything to watch out or look for when viewing the vehicle? It has a donught tank so presumably range might be an issue too? Reading the board it looks like Jeeps generally don't need FlashLube, but does this also apply to the 5.7L? Any suggestions / experiences very welcome.

Not sure they do their own system, Vogels are the Benelux importer for OMVL so it may be an OMVL system supplied by Vogels. Website is here http://www.vogelsautogas.nl/

Any thoughts particularly on range/flashlube and whether a single Vapouriser system (lets assume OMVL based on Gilbert's assessment) would cope with the demands?

I don't see how anyone can comment on range when the tank size is unknown and no-one knows what youf friend might consider a problem. Range is probably somewhere between 100 and 300 miles and most likely smack in the middle.

Some single vaporiser systems can quite happily fire this engine, some can't; not familiar with Vogels. If it were an OMVL, then some OMVL can quite happily fire this engine, some can't. There isn't enough to go on. Perhaps your mate should consider the reputation of the installer, are they likely to have done the job properly? If so, there's no need to worry about specific bits and bobs they selected.

If it is the OMVL system then it should be able to cope perfectly fine is fitted and set correctly.

I know Chris from LPG Autos in Stafford had done a few with OMVL and with a few adjustments ran perfectly fine at the top end.

When I had my Vitara done, I had a cylindrical tank put in place of the petrol tank and had a smaller petrol tank put into the ladder chassis. I guess one option might be to go for a donught and an undermount cylinder to extend the range, but not sure if a smaller petrol tank fitted elsewhere is an option. I appreciate this is all speculation, but in case someone had converted one of these vehicles might be able to advise is this can be achieved with this particular vehicle?
