BRC will not switch to Lpg

#1 Post by j33myb »

Hi all,

I`ve had a browse but been unable to solve the issue with the Audi. Last week it started switching to lpg immediatly on start up when cold. Now, it will not switch over, regardless of temperature. It sometimes and randomly will switch over and runs perfectly.

I cannot get to a specialist anytime soon. Have checked coolant levels and for airlocks.where is the coolant sensor on the brc kits? Is it internal to the vaporiser?

Any thoughts or suggestions would. Be appreciated, thanks, jamie

Sounds like maybe a temp sensor issue. Realy need to connect with the software to save possibly a lot of testing tracking the problem.

I've not been able to get in to a reputable installer, the chap that fitted it is on holiday and the other palce are only open 9-5 Mon-Fri which is not giong to work.

Until I manage to get a cable, can any one tell me where the temperature sensor is situated wit the BRC kit (not sure the model I'm afraid)? I want to check the wiring but have no idea where to look. The vaporiser is down under the bumper. IS it integreated to the vap, or are the usually sited in-line with a coolant pipe?

Thanks, Jamie

Thanks classicswede. Got the cable today and water temperature shows 139degrees at start up and does not change. Will look tonight for a sensor, any particular type?

Cheers, jamie

You'll be wanting a BRC sensor (they're not like others) for whatever BRC system model you have (they vary). If you can see if it has two or three wires that might help. You could try BRC http://brcgb.co.uk/

thanks rossko. I tried this last night but website seems to be goosed, just loops me back to google, even doing it from my phone is the same. Did you managed to access it okay? It's the Seq56, but can't get in to see the vap without taking the bumper off, hopefully get that done at the weekend.

I think BRC are sick full stop. I've tried at various points to get through by phone, but goes straight to voicemail.

I've left numerous vm's and no-one has gotten back to me. This is fast becoming a farce getting something as simple as a temperature sensor :(

Oh well, looks like I'm being forced to go to an installer for this. BRC don't want to supply me the part because I'm not an installer, can't get one anywhere else.

Mega pissed off. Thanks BRC, great one, you've got the market stitched up.
