cutover temp & tank rusting

Hi experienced LPG'ers! Its been a while.

I still need to get round to getting the car in for its LPG service but it has been running well in general. The random misfire did happen again, but this seemer to happen only during cutover to LPG during our recent cold weather - my assumption is this is purely down to the temperature for cutover to LPG perhaps being a little low for cold weather?

Ill ask for that to be looked at during the service, it seemed to cut over at water temp of around 50oC according to the gauge. during warmer temperatures that doesnt seem to be an issue, is it just the case that as it was so cold the liquid coming up the pipe from the tank wasnt expanding as much before the vaporiser in the current cold? My boat hits 80oC pretty quick so, if im right, would it be a good idea to just ask for the cutover temp to be raised 20o?

Something else I noticed today, a little worrying for a tank that looked very well coated/patined when it was installed 8 months ago, it looks like its several years old from all of the rust its developed. Things obviously rust on the outside of a vehicle, from spots where stones have chipped paint to general wear over many years, but when compared to other external components in the same area (10 year old now!) you would think the tank was older. Is this normal for a tank, or should i be concerned? im not sure how thick the tanks skin is and I alway worry about a pressure vessel with rust

I would say it is more likely that the mapping needs a little tweak as it should be able to change over without problems at 30 deg

If the tank was mine I would pull it off, clean it up and paint it with a good primer and underseal.

Like a lot of things, I can't help thinking that the paint system* is chosen on the basis of what is the cheapest they can get away with without leaving it bare ! Pity it's not possible to hot-dip galvanise them

* Paint is (or should be) part of a system - surface preparation, paint(s) used, application process, drying/setting/curing process.
