Wow! I'm quite shocked Never thought something like this exists? How to
use it ? There isn't much description in auction... and is it any good ?

I have horrible smell of LPG when I start car in the morning. Before it
will switch to LPG and after.

Also - someone told me that my reductor needs to be cleaned. Can I do it
safely myself ?

You spray it onto any joints or area's you think might be leaking. If you get bubbles there is a gas leak.

What was the reason for needing to clean the reducer? If there is aproblem with it it might be better to fit a new one.

I have still this problem.of rough work of engine when.idle. also engine looses revvs when breaking.or if I take out a gear suddenly. F or example.if.I drive on 2nd or.3rd and put in neutral. If I do that revvs don't fall gently, they drop too low, and when engine notices it accelerates on its.own.

I tried everything. New spark plugs, top of engine, inlet, cables, coil, battery, and.so on.

It seems.to be.much more.of.problem on lpg.than.on on.

Also as mentioned - fuel.consumption is large and.smells.with gas.

I haven't been on this forum for some time as I been occupied with other things.

I have just come across this thread and feel that I need to answer some of these points. Normally I wouldn't get into this but I feel this unjustified slander.

This vehicle was converted by LPG Cars Ltd in Sept 2009 at 32611 miles. We last saw it for service in July 2011 at 84028 miles, it was serviced regularly in between, there were no problems and you can see the original owner used it a lot.

I was contacted by the original poster a few times about this car. As with anyone who calls us, I gave as much help as I could over the phone. He was concerned about travelling to Coventry to get it looked at but he has since taken it to Chesterfield, double the distance, he says they fixed it in a day and then he says he is going back to collect it a week later. Now he has a leak of some sort. He sings their praises while slagging us. The only contact I have had with him is via email or phone.

Whatever his problems are, we are NOT responsible for them.
He was not our customer at the time of the conversion and has not been to us since buying the car second hand. We have tried to help him but he has decided to ask someone who has no facility to service his system and take their word against someone who knows it.
He didn't want to pay £50 for the cable which someone else is selling for 157 euros or £60 for a service.

We spoke about my car last week. It dissent want to switch to LPG. You offered service for £60 it I come to you. I am considering that.

There are some LPG specialists around me (south London, croydon area) but I would want to go.with you as you have installed and certified it.
If I drive all.the way to you for service would you he so kind and reduce the price or at least include something in the service ? I will have to sacrifice all day and it will cost me £50 to drive and come back!

I can be this Friday or Saturday. Installation is suspected to not be "fully sealed". I don't know how to describe... Not a gas leak but it might be taking air from other source or similar problem. Engine will need to me set correctly as it doesn't work evenly when idle.

Please advise what you think and advise the costs.

If you are going to complain about someone, be honest and tell the truth.

LPG Cars have been installing Stefanelli equipment since 2007. In that time several hundred cars have been converted with the equipment. Some of which have done in excess of 120,000 on gas.
We have all spares that may be required in stock plus we have the interface cables and software.
I and my staff have had training here and I have visited the factory in Italy.
There are other people that have been trained and sold Stefanelli equipment, we don't claim to be the only ones because I know there at least 20 installers approved for the system on the UKLPG list.

We are an LPG specialist. LPG is all we do. We have an injector testing rig as well as full diagnostics facilties. We have a gas retrieval rig and can service most makes of LPG system.
We have developed a kit to replace the Vauxhall injectors.

I bougut one and will try on piping and major parts this weekend. There is certainly some leak.
I don't remember if that was you but someone also told me that dishwashing liquid works quite well

I'm still not done with testing it yet. Will have to do for new year. I'm shocked with my gas consumption... How much LPG Mondeo 1.8 on 125hp should take ? I recon that 42litres should last at least 250km (155-160 miles) ?

There seems to be an awful lot we aren't being told here. You say you took it to Chesterfield where they fixed the car but then you say that you think you have a leak as you can smell LPG and it is using way too much (I used to get 230-260 miles out of 46 litres from a 2 litre Saab 900 so I would expect you to get roughly the same). You say they fixed it in a day and then say that you were picking it up a week later. You say that you didn't want to go back to the original installer as he messed it up, yet the exchange of emails was perfectly friendly but you still went elsewhere because, according to you, the original installer messed it up. Not as badly as the installer you did take it to though it seems.

What are you doing, trying to find somebody else that you can take it to and then slag them off for messing it up yet again?

I went to Chesterfield 2 times. First time to fix non working LPG installation. Second time to fix mechanical problems with car (engine). Second time I left my car and pick up week later. Sorry for the confusion. I called many LPG installers and from all that I have spoken to, those ones in Chesterfield were my preferable choice. LPG leak was noticed recently (around the time I wrote it) which was after my both visits to mechanics. Hope this helps.

In regards to consumption - do you think it could be problem of mixture or something else ? I want't to sort it out in one go once I go there.

If it's a problem with mixture then the guys at Chesterfield didn't do that good a job of sorting the LPG system. I'd suggest it is using too much gas because half of it is leaking away.

Why didn't you take it to the guys that fitted the system in the first place and know about it? You may have been told by others that they didn't fit it correctly but that could have been because it was a system they didn't know and wanted to flog you a complete new system.
