Does anyone install CNG anywhere? Can't find anyone to do it

#1 Post by CNG »

Does anyone install CNG anywhere? I am having real issues getting anyoen to speak to me about installing CNG. I am prepared to travel 150 mile in any direction. I am in Milton Keynes. Most LPG installers I talk to are happy enough to do it, but can't get parts for CNG.

I managed to get tanks, which is the hard bit! But no installer. What now?

I can gt a Chinese kit off Ebay, but fail with anything else. Someone must do CNG.

CNG is very common in Italy and most of the LPG equipment manufacturers are Italian. I doubt Chinese kit will meet R67.01 (or the equivalent if this doesn't apply) but Italian made kit should. OMVL do CNG equivalents to their LPG kit.

I doubt you will find an installer that is familiar with it though.

Non of the LPG installers in the UK will have any real experiance of CNG. We just do not have th network here for it to be viable. There has been no push towards CNG and I did not see it happening anytime soon here.

CNG is very common in Italy and the parts are available and the knowledge is there.

Updating your system is not a simple job and is going to take an installer who has updated a Volvo Bifuel before to keep some of the factory features working. As I said I'm happy to work with you on this one and it will be an intersting project.

Unless... The lorry owner buys a CNG compressor. Just think, rig the gas meter at work, compress the gas out of the mains supply, run the lorry for nothing!

The Italian company Emer (Valtek) are, I beleive, one of the largest manufacture and supply company. Tinley tech supply emer systems so would probably be able to source the parts you require. might be worth a call?
