Cheapest motorway services yet??
Cheapest motorway services yet??
Just called in at the Peterborough services on the A1(M). They have been pretty reasonable recently at 71.9p per litre but now they are charging 68.9p. Is this a record for a motorway service area?

I've always found the Reading services cheap, don't know what they are at the moment though.

Re: Cheapest motorway services yet??
I drive weekly between Central London / Portsmouth / Twickenham / Birmingham / wherever needed. About 3000 miles/month.
The services on the M1 - Leicester Forest (?)- seem a fair price.
M3 - Fleet Services - currently around 72.9p/l
Cheapest nationally is Birmingham Star City , Bristol Adsa and Morrisons good prices (Cribbs),
Also check out "WilleyField Farm" or "Potters Poultry" on the A5 between Lutterworth and Hinckley as prices can be very, very good (pcode CV23 0SQ Near Leicester) Call them first to confirm price, but it's 24 x 7 automatic machine.
A34 Peartree OK, less than the LPG stations north on the A34 towards M40.
Shell on A316 southbound near twickenham is 2-3p litre less than anywhere within 40 miles AFAIK (68p/l compared to 71.9-73.9 todays prices).

If using M25 near A1/M1 then Sainsburys Colney are good prices, and free air for tyres.
Also, Near Greenford London - http://goo.gl/maps/fDpQa good prices. A4020 Uxbridge Road - LPG Accumulator card as well (If still running)

Re: Cheapest motorway services yet??
Just checked it out. I have tended to update petrolprices.com (FUBRA) but as I see there is an android app, I will aim to keep it updated.
I also use WAZE as a GPS which offers fuel price updates.
Thanks.

Re: Cheapest motorway services yet??
Petrolprices.com only lists filling stations and the prices are updated by the industry. www.filllpg.co.uk was created to fill in the gaps on that and other sites by Richard_ha one of the users on this site. As it only includes LPG refuelling sites, it includes Flogas, Calor and other non-filling station locations and is updated by the users it is, or can be as long as people keep it updated, far more accurate. Even the site produced by Shell/Autogas (http://www.autogas.ltd.uk/) is more accurate than petrolprices but still misses out a lot of locations.
