evening all

have got some gas in the tank now and have run the adaption.

Its barely running on gas.The conversion is .54 which I know should be 1.2-1.6.

Its currently running with the injectors drilled to 2mm and the gas pressure is 1.3-1.4 bar.

Its a 1.6ltr with 110bhp.

It seems to be running really weak ?

any help would be welcome

cheers - mike

That conflicts with what the autocal thought, when it arrived at a 0.54 factor. Why not find out for sure, using OBD live data or direct sensor readings via meter or connection to LPG system?

software says injector size should be 3.0-3.1mm

hi there

have looked on the lpg screen on the software and its showing the lambda to be on th yellow
but only just.

Is this rich or weak ?

I have a 3mm drill so could re-drill the injectors if its running weak

Thanks

mike

believe yellow to be weak, it should fluctuate from red to green to yellow.

Hang on a minute, it sounds to me like the autocal has done something odd. If it's giving a gas timing figure of 0.54 then it will be weak. Are you sure that is correct? What are the actual petrol and gas injection times?

hi

re-drilled the nozzles to 3mm this morning and ran auto-cal again
and the conversion has gone to .34!

I think the nozzles need to be smaller.

When I use the nozzle size calculator in the esgi software I set the type to valtek 3ohm
the engine powere to 110hp - should this be kw?

and the max opening seems to default to 15ms - is this correct?

thanks - mike

hi again

just a thought about the map set up

I have a drilling at one end of the manifold that was connected to the fuel pressure regulator.
I have teed of this and run to another tee with one connection to the map sensor and one connectionto the vapouriser.Map seems to be 9ish kpa at idle.Does this sound ok ?

thanks - mike

No. You'd expect around 30kPa at idle, and 100kPa with the engine stopped.

"yellow" only means lean for some types of oxygen sensor. I wouldn't know what to expect on a Proton. Observing the movements while running petrol will give you some idea of what to expect. OBD live data will reveal all without guessing.

Why isn't your kit supplier helping you here?

hi all

have now got this sorted

number 4 petrol injector was wired the oposite way to the other 3.I didnt spot this when
I wired up the lpg system.

The cars now running fine,1.5mm nozzles,1.35ish on the gas pressure, calibrated fine
with a correction of 1.77.I may drill the injectors to 1.8mm to bring the correction
down a bit but car's running superb as is.

Just a few bits if tidying up on the wiring etc and she's all done.

Will post some pics when I get chance.

Thanks for the help

hi all

just an update on this

have now done aprox 1500 miles since converting.Had to adjust the gas map around the
mid load range as the engine management light was coming on and the petrol ecu
was logging mixture to lean.

Car is now running superb,41-42 mpg on gas, paying 62p/ltr so less than 8p per mile.

Cheers - mike
