Does anyone know anything about them? Seem to be a relatively new company.

Had a quote of £900 for a conversion to an Audi A4 1.8T quattro. That's with a 1000 mile check up and 24 month unlimited mileage warranty.

Aye thats the one. They use the AEB system from an Italian manufacturer so I'm assuming it's the Tinley Tech kit.

Thats dirt cheap for scotland ! Aeb system, find out which one ? it needs to have a good reducer and injectors to cope with a 1.8 t audi. And £900 is a bit cheap anywhere though if im honest.

nerver heard of them, only 1's i know about are in scotlandwell and kirkcaldy.

how long do they plan on having the car?

if its AEB and done for £900 i'd guess its a king.

I'll find out the timescale and type.
An upgraded vaporizer and injectors are used for all cars to cope with higher bhp (I'm guessing the >360 bhp?).
Not UKLPG registered but vehicles taken to an authorized centre for inspection and added to the register, included in the £900.

the address is given as clentry crescent, i used to deliver in kelty and iirc clenty crescent is all houses, no workshop/units etc.

make sure its not just some guy doing it on his driveway.

but if your acting as a business you should have a unit with a ramp atleast.

There are some rows of garages in a wee cul-de-sac bit I noticed. I don't mind about it being a guy doing it himself but it's the validity of the guarantee that goes with it

there are far to many horror stories on here about cheap installs ,and I know everyone has to start somewhere but smart people will tell you to spend a bit more and usually you will get piece of mind, as with every thing in life you only get what you pay for ......I take it you didn't buy your car because it "was a cheap car " so don't "turn it into one"....I know it sound's harsh but just do your homework . good luck.Andy

I run Newdawnlpg and i just wanted to reply to maybe put a little better light on my business. My business address is a residential address but i have access to a large garage for doing the conversions in kelty. I worked for a company in newcastle called magpie tuning for about 4 years doing lpg conversions until they closed about 2 years ago. They didnt have uklpg recognition. I have in the past couple of months done training with a uklpg approved trainer so my own conversions can and will conform to that standard. I pay to have the company check over each car and put it on the register before returning it to my customers. The past 2 years i have done a few conversions through word of mouth but not trading. I have now been made redundant again so i thought this would be a good time to start working for myself. I have applied for a grant for hydrolic ramps and a business unit but just cant afford the outlay without the grant with all of the other expenses of a new venture ie. insurance, training, LPG kits

I hope this helps as we all have to start somewhere

Welcome to the forum and I admire your honesty. As you say, we all have to start somewhere and if you can do a decent job for a good price (although I suspect you'll have to up your prices if you get better premises with the higher overheads) then I'm sure you'll make a success of it. Just remember though, it takes a while to gain a good reputation but it only takes one dodgy install to get a bad one. If somebody brings you something that you aren't sure about, although you may be turning business away, it's better to do that than fit an inadequate system and have an unhappy customer.

Hi New Dawn, well thanks for clearing that up. And welcome to the forum. if you dont mind me asking what systems do you fit ?
£900 is awfully cheap even without overheads, that kind of price instantly rings alarm bells, especially in Scotland.
Maybe somewhere around £995 - £1075 would be a better kind of start point for a conversion on a 4 cylinder car ? Especially high powered 4 cylinder motors, they need to be a bigger 4 cylinder kit really.

I use the aeb powermax kits with the powermax ultra gas injectors. I know my prices are very low at the minute but they say word of mouth is the best advert. I hope trying to offer a good service at a good price will get my business recognised "cleshay" and when i do put my prices up,when i have to i will still get customers from my reputation. Also i dont think i would get much attention with higher prices running from home address.

I think you will struggle without a bit of petrol blending at the top end. And remember the non obd ecu's dont give you that functionality.....they are quite a demanding little 4 cylinder lump them.

i,ve got the same engine in my VRS octavia, remapped to 220 bhp ,it does,nt need any fuel addition,its only 55 bhp per cylinder thats not a big ask if the system is up to it.

I put the system in a civic type r with flash lube just over 190bhp around 14months ago and it has been ok. It was a friends so if their had been any issues i would have heard. Saying that i still ask my supplier on each kit i buy and hope they are telling me the truth. From what cars i have done with the aeb kits i am very happy with the out come

You and me both mate ..the latest offering this week is a Porsche Cayenne v8 done by battersea autogas on romano....shocking, does,nt cover it.
