Safety Inspection

I went to my local LPG conversion garage today (Bellfield Perth, anyone know it?) and asked about converting my own vehicle then getting them to inspect it and issue a safety certificate. I was told it would be £100 + VAT. Is this a good price?

Also I asked them about the system they fitted and was told "BMC"?
Could have been any 3 of the following letters: B C D E G M N S T (this was after a long shift please forgive me :oops: ).
I only mention it as I've heard the safety certificate must be issued by a garage which installs the same system as used on the car.

Any advice appreciated.

BRC is regarded as one of the premium systems, but not very DIY friendly. This may be a problem if they are not able or willing to inspect another system.
Note that paper certificates have been replaced by the installer simply entering details on the UKLPG database, as *anybody* could issue a certificate. Not all insurers require an inspection before they will cover you, so check first.
Perhaps one of the installers on here could comment on whether it's a fair price, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Will check first, however its not looking good as insurance on an Audi 1.8T with lpg is about double what my diesel Astra is this year. I'm keeping looking...

I will ask them if I did a BRC conversion myself would they like to help out if I got stuck e.g. with programming but not holding out much hope.

Just had mine examined and inspected, and also registered for 65 quid.

The van came with the BRC system fitted, which all who have seen it say is very good system.
