LPG Removal
I was wondering how feasible it is to remove an LPG conversion and restore a vehicle to the condition it was pre LPG?

Other than holes in the inlet manifold that will need plugging, the only other evidence would be holes in the bodywork and a few wires that have had extra ones attached to them.

You may end up with a few holes here and there though. Also a bit of extra heat shrink on the injector wires and some little stubs of pipe with a bolt in the end on each cylinder. Unless you replace the entire manifold off a breaker. And you would need a few straight couplers for the coolant system. Again unless you replaced the pipes completely.

Depending on the vehicle, some difficult-to-reverse surgery may have been undertaken for the tank fitment - cut/discard sparewheel mount, welded bracketry, discarded petrol tank, relocated air suspension, etc.

Mind you if you need any of that stuff just go and have a look in any gas converters scrap pile

It appears it would probably be easier to change the vehicle to one that has not been converted to LPG. The reason I asked is that I had my vehicle converted to LPG and I don't use the conversion, so I have the downsides of having the LPG equipment on the vehicle (lack of spare wheel, servicing of the LPG system, etc.).

I do prefer running the vehicle on petrol rather than LPG and the price of petrol is decreasing; LPG is about a third cheaper than petrol.

But a third cheaper is still cheaper. I'm intrigued to know why you prefer to run it on petrol, both my Range Rovers seem smoother on gas and there's no difference in power. Does your system have a problem?

The LPG system doesn't have a problem, I just prefer to run it on petrol because of the nature of LPG and that having tried LPG it is not for me.
With petrol the vehicle runs through the power band until there is no petrol left. With LPG the vehicle doesn't run through the powerband until there is no LPG left as the system will switch the LPG off when it is on the reserve. Than you can switch it back on and drive a considerable bit more, although not throughout the whole powerband. If the vehicle ran out of petrol you couldn't switch it back on and then drive further, whereas with LPG you can.
I prefer just putting petrol in, rather than putting both petrol and LPG in to operate the LPG system.
I don't like the look of the LPG tank, which is located underneath the vehicle in the spare wheel well. It hangs down further than the spare wheel did.
I also do not like the look of the LPG fill point and switch. This is mainly due to preference for the originality of the vehicle.

Sounds like an inappropriate tank but the switching back is intentional. Unlike petrol which is liquid all the time, LPG is a gas which is kept as a liquid under pressure but turns into a gas when it is needed. If it was allowed to run until there was nothing left, then, when the tank got very low, it would only have gas left not liquid. This is fine at idle and low revs but is not sufficient to run at larger throttle openings. That's why if you switch it back to gas after it has switched itself off, it won't rev. The fact that it will still run is a bonus, effectively it is empty, there's no liquid left, just vapour. Not sure how much petrol it uses as well but I suppose I'm lucky with a single point system I can run on gas from cold. I put £20 worth of petrol in my P38 about 3 weeks (1,000 miles) ago, and my trip computer is telling me I've got about 5 miles range less now than I had when I put it in. The previous time I put some petrol in was on December 4th in Switzerland!

The LPG tank doesn't hang that much lower than the spare wheel used to, I just prefered the look of the spare wheel rather than a steel tank. I think the vehicle can use four tanks of LPG with one tank of petrol, which would allow 1250 miles worth of driving. The LPG system is a multipoint sequential injection system, so it starts on petrol than switchs over to LPG when the coolant has warmed up.
