I have a OMVL R90/E system on my 3.5 v8 land rover. Getting it to run on gas is not happening. When pressing the change over switch, once the petrol has been used it stops as no gas is getting through. When I slacken of slowly the LPG supply pipe there is gas in it so it's getting to the vapouriser. I have check all wiring, connections, filter but nothing seems to get it to go.
Could it be a solenoid problem or more serious? Thanks
Not running on gas
Re: Not running on gas
Has it ever worked before?
What switch? i.e. what kind
You do understand a proper carb changeover switch has three states (petrol, changeover, LPG)?
It's up to you to move the switch/press the button again when the float chamber petrol has been used, its not automatic.

could be a solenoid problem, did you install it yourself? has it previously been in working condition?taff wrote:I have a OMVL R90/E system on my 3.5 v8 land rover. Re: Not running on gas
Yes I understand the three stages on the switch, it was running fine for ages.
Re: Not running on gas
Check the resistance of the solenoid coil on the vaporiser. It should read around 10 Ohms.

Problem sorted
Took solenoids off, on the inside of one where it slides over the brass part there was a bit of plastic that had folded itself on the inside of the solenoid, no idea how that got there. Took it off and now running ok, must have been giving a bad contact. Thanks for the pointers.
