East London LPG price from local Calor gas center

Hi I live in east London. LPG at my local Calor gas center cost 77.7 P but most forecorts(BP 75.9, Shell 74.9) and Sainsbirys (74.9) in surrounding areas are cheaper. Very odd!!!

Supermarkets say they discount to bring in custom. Calor has to recover the cost of they pumps? Alright, I duno, mystery!

Have you tried petrolprices.com?

Sainsburys can't get the deliveries to match demand and have really hiked the price recently to avoid running out.

Cobham went from 64.9 (always running out) to 72.9 not been there recently funnily enough, but then you could pay up to 12p a litre more in that part of the world

My local Calor is as expensive as the local Shell filling stations, whereas Flogas 3 miles away is the cheapest in the area.

Check out the new Texaco on the A13 (Westbound), over near Dagenham. Currently at 71.9p! Or there's the Flogas depo over in Rainham. Not checked their price in a while, but were usually a penny of two cheaper than Shamansburys or sHell.

Having had this argument with my local Calor Centre (Preston, Lancs, where a Shell forecourt is (or was at the time) 2ppl cheaper), I was told that the Calor Centres have to buy the gas from Calor. In other words, they're not actually outlets of Calor but are all independent franchises that sell Calor products - they have to buy the stuff from Calor and then sell it on to Joe Public. Shell forecourts can shift a lot more LPG than my little independent Calor Centre franchise so they get better bulk discount and can afford to sell it cheaper than Calor Centres.

In Australia, BP offer a loyalty card to customers, its free, it gives you 2c a litre off the pump price of gas when you show it.

Strangely enough the pump price always seems to be about 3c per litre higher than other local outlets.......
