Just saying hello

Hi,
just thought I'd register and say hello, I'm a bit of a car nut and live near Lincoln. I've recently acquired an Alfa 155, its the 2.0 8v and I'm currently getting about 30mpg from it on lpg. I'm not sure what the system is in it, except it's single point with a 60l cylinder tank in the boot. I bought it as I like cars that are different and I'm currently doing 100 miles a day round trip to work. It makes a change from the run of the mill tdi
As the lpg kit was a diy install I need to get it certified/safety checked, so I'm planning on taking it to CG Gas in Peterborough to get it "certified" and possibly have them do a bit of work on it. At present its manual switch over (I'd prefer automatic) and the tank isn't filling fully, I'm only getting about 38-40l in it and even 80% would be 48l. I may see what they say about tuning and possibly upgrading the system as I'm finding the single point set up considerably less powerful than running the car on petrol.

The 75's belong to the guy I bought the car from, he's a bit of an Alfa nut, and has a GTV as well as the 75's.
Personally I'm a bit more ecclectic, but am starting to have a fondness for Italian cars. I've also got a Lancia Thema, which I am trying to justify spending double what I paid for the car on an lpg conversion.

When getting an LPG conversion, you should consider how much you will be spending on petrol and how long it will take you to recover your investment.
It does not matter what the car is worth. If you are going to be doing a hundred miles a day, even if your car is only worth £700, it will cost the same to fill up as a similar car worth £7000. If you plan to use the car and not sell it in a couple of months, then the LPG will be a good investment.
