Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I've just made a quick modification.
Now if you click on a station in the "news feed" on the right, the map will highlight the station immediately without having to refresh.

You can now view the history of the station prices.
Select the station and press the "price history" link.

Hey guys, thinking about a slight change of layout, what do you think?

The links etc won't work (they'll direct to the live site) just interested to know what you think.

Just updated the price of a local Shell station, from 61.9 (the cheapest in Peterborough last weekend, cheaper even than Flogas at 62.0) to 64.9. 3p in a week????

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Don't worry about it, even the advertising banner at the top of this forum page runs off the edge of the screen. My fault for using an older spec laptop (only a mere 1.6GHz processor and 14" screen, but it's got a serial port....).

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I'm sure you've all noticed that there are sooo many stations added now the map is slowly griding to a halt! (At least on my works PC).
Here's a little teaser of things to come...
http://www.filllpg.co.uk/flash/sample.swf
How does this rate speed wise on your machines? Loading/panning etc.
(You can zoom in by double clicking on a blank area of the map at the moment)

That's alot quicker at the moment.
Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Hi Richard,
I don't know whether you have made any progress with the above but I see the zoom is now working on the mouse wheel but, it takes about 18 seconds for the garages to pop-up. I can move about and zoom in on the map whilst this is happening though.
Also, the RSS 'fill LPG update feed' isn't updating on my Firefox for your current site.
Regards
PJPJ

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Hi
Not had a chance to get any further with the flash version yet, I need to investigate why it takes so long to load the stations in initially.
The RSS feed still seems to be working in Google Chrome and Google Reader? Are you using http://www.filllpg.co.uk/rss_updates.php
?

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
The last update I had was Shell Wentworth that I updated the price on I think last week.
Even if I force update RSS feed, there is still no update. It won't show the preview either.
Your two other feeds are working fine.
The RSS address is as above.

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Good to see its back up, 2 questions though
1) The opening hours flags and all the notes seem to have disappeared - I'm assuming this might be part of the original problem with the speed? As far as i can tell all the unconfirmed stations have disappeared as well though this might be a good thing as it makes it slightly simpler to add a new one where ones were unconfirmed before.
2) With the android app what does it actually require to be shown as compatible with a tablet pc for example (is there specific hardware it looks for as google play will not allow me to download it and just says its not compatible - no indication as to why its not compatible or what actually is compatible - I think this is mainly google being difficult rather than the app not actually working on any particular device). Is there any way to download without google play to try it at least?
Its also noticably faster as well than it used to be - and having read though the thread go-autogas seems very hit and miss to get the station in the right place let alone the price being accurate - BP Swaffham for them for example shows a station which is the wrong station over a mile away which the address would be clear enough to most people to tell its in the wrong place (theres at least another 6 things i've picked up on with them where stations are either duplicated or wrongly shown and thats just the few i've looked at!) So good work Richard is what i'm trying to say!

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I think the app requires Android 2.1 or above. If you email Dave on filllpg@onthefencedevelopment.com he'll have a look for you. It might well work with earlier devices.
I'll try and get the notes and opening hours back tomorrow. I must have missed them when I moved over to the new system.

Hi
Just a couple of other things i've noticed
The stations hyperlink from the index page doesn't work (works fine from other pages). Looks like its lost the bit after the first / in the address so doesn't do anything now.
The unconfirmed stations appear to have disappeared from the map (the shell ones mainly i've noticed such as Redbourne. They still appear to be recorded as the unconfirmed poi file still exists and they are still in the normal one too, but not visible on the map now.

Fixed the stations hyperlink, and added a "List all stations by price" link.Brian_H wrote:Hi

I've decided to remove the unconfirmed stations. I will remove them from the database too. The whole idea of the site is that it only contains valid stations.
