Honda CR-V cutting out on BRC

I drive a honda CRV 54 reg. it was converted to the BRC system one and half years ago. recently it started to cut out on petrol or lpg when starting from cold. after few cut outs and when the engine warm up it will run smooth. I had it tested (compression etc) and had the fuel and tempreature sensors changed but still the problem exists. 3 carages after extensive testing told me that the problem seem to lie on the BRC sysytem. can anyone help sorting this problem?

will have to be running properly on petrol befor you look at lpg . if it is doing it on both most likely a petrol problem

The most common cause of cutting out on the CRV is valve clearence which should be checked and adjusted every 12k as according to Honda. (even on petrol)
It takes aprox 1 hour to do and should be charged accordingly.
If you havn't a Flash-Lube system fitted get one.

spot on. I had this problem for the last 4 months, I took the car to 6 different garages including the honda dealers, one lpg garage no one could figure out what was the problem. but I got fixed following your advise. thanx again

Makes you laugh does'nt, that's the basics. I had the same problem with my jap car exept the tickover was just rough, performance was down and my engine light was lit. The same day our local Mitsubishi dealers took it in for a 'diagnosis report' during which they found no problem, 'your tappets are ok'.
One or two installers on here told me to check the valve clearances and true enough they were almost closed up so I adjusted them, fitted a flashlube kit and have had no more problems. If you visit the Flashlube web site they show a graph of a test they did before and after using flashlube valve regression measurement test on a crv. Obviously they are not going to say their product does not work but you should give flashlube a go if you do not already have it. One or two on here have said it works on crv's, I think one person has said it does'nt. If you have flashlube you need to check the flow rate regulary as the weather affects the consistency and changes the flow rate. if the engine gets too much you may get the engine light on or damage a sensor. This is what I find pathetic about present day 'mechanics'. The diagnostic tells them there may be random misfires but it doesn't tell them why so they don't know what to do (except maybe change bits at random in the hope that sooner or later they will change the right bit). As you say, it's basics. If you have compression, fuel and sparks all occurring at the right time, an engine will run. If you've not got enough compression at low revs because the valves aren't closing fully, it may still run but not properly.
