OK I will remove that broken nipple now before I drive the car into town for some fuel hose and bsp nipples

I used pipe tape to seal the threads

Once again, if you tell people exactly what your symptoms are it would help. Last we heard it wouldn't run, stalling every time you touch the throttle.
Toolless wrote:... for some fuel hose...
Here we go again ... is this hose lettered for use with LPG? Why do you need more hose, after all what you had before fit the gas injectors ... didn't it? Are your BSP nipples meant for a different size hose perhaps ... how are you going to mate that up to the gas injectors (no you can't screw BSP plumbers fittings into them as well, that would render them scrap)
Toolless wrote:... its still leaking
Use a bit of hose as a stethoscope and find out where, then. You've got plenty of hose ...
You haven't said if you ever checked to see if your blanking grub screws are sticking out and preventing the manifold seating.
You've carefully avoided talking about the gasket ... everyone here has seen that you ruined it when you took the manifold off ; how have you resealed it?

how the f**k can you help a muppet like this, he hasn't got a f**cking clue. Or has he and he is just messing with you all.
one person cannot be that stupid can they????

10 pages full of shite. I know there are some cowboy installers out there but this guy would have been better off going to one of those. At least the system would have been fitted by now, and they couldn't have a done worse job could they??

this forum is for helping people and i am all for that but this guy is taking the piss.
if this guy does end up getting it working witout kiiling himself then it is going to be on the road and possibly killing someone else.

this guy is such a bad influence for the LPG community, and lets face it LPG doesn't have the best reputation in the world here in the UK.

lets hear it for DIY installs, must be the future.

stopped doing installs a while ago, and this fuckin idiot is exactly the reason why.

there are some knowledgeable people on here which is why i like looking at this forum and trying to help where i can, but enough is enough and if you want to try and help an idiot like this then on your own heads be it

hypocrite!

Now that the Mupits are out of the way its back to business

Hear is my manifold with 2 BSP nipples that I have drilled and threaded
The reason I need more hose is coz the stuff of the old car is too short

As you can see from the above photo the selent used on the gasket
Hear is what I bought

I'm sure he is, but if the rubbish he posts goes unchallenged there's a risk of other inexperienced people following suit e.g. using cheap caravanners hose to hook up tanks.
Now do try to keep your 'jelliosy' of this chap's amazing success in check !

I can't believe it either, he now believes there is an airleak problem but still steadfastfully refuses to use a new gasket. It would have been cheaper to buy than all the trips to the plumbers merchant are costing.

I daren't ask about the pic, with the blue already on the manifold but only two nozzles fitted ... maybe we're going to have two old ones and two new ones to save a quid ?!

cant help but think those nipples are gonna by too far away from the petrol injectors.

you removed the TB, why? i know you'll need to fit flash lube is that why? or did you remove it to fit the gas nipples? this could be another area for you air leak.

I removed the throttle body to gain access to get my drill and tap in
There is a gasket still there for the throttle body and graham says it will do the job
Graham put that blue stuff on the manifold gasket he says its the best thing since sliced bread
Grahams an engineer so he knows his stuff
So I went into town yeastaday and bought a tube myself

I only drilled over the exact spots where the original holes where; any closer the nipples would not have fitted
What would happen it the gas injectors where to far back from the engine?
The tractor shop only had 3 nipples so the 4th I will have to use one of the 2 remaining unbroken nipples
My original gasket tore up and at first I did not think it was that important to have one
And now it probaly blown off with the wind to Africa or some where
But if I put A good layer of the blue jell on then maybe it would seal it better
Who know at first there could of been leaking galore everywhere gasket threads pipes est

There is another big problem I have is when I fitted the T pieces from the heater matrix to the vaporizer
There is a big water leak right where the T pieces are and yes they are tight enough with jubaile clips
It just leaks on the T piece side not the vaporize size and I have not put jubalie clips on the vaporizers
So this dose not make a lot of sense!

where's this "Graham" appeared from? why was'nt he helping at the start?
Toolless wrote:What would happen it the gas injectors where to far back from the engine?
it will run like a bag of shite! i had mine in my upper inlet but that was to far away so i pretty much had to dismantle my engine to get to the lower inlet (this is the v6 though)
Toolless wrote:My original gasket tore up and at first I did not think it was that important to have one
they're there for a reason

they cant be tight enough if they are leaking

why have'nt you put jube's on the reducer? whenever you start the engine there is a very good chance it will leak water!

I did not put any jubalies on the vaporizer coz i did not have any at the time
But leaking on the jubalie matrix side and nothing on the vaporizer side makes no sence

Graham has only lent me his tube of blue as he said not to use slicone
Having my lunch now as I have been busy making some1/4 bsp nuts up for the nipples on yon side of the manifold as they wear not locking

Maybe you've got no water flowing as far as the vapouriser....
Toolless wrote:Graham has only lent me his tube of blue as he said not to use slicone
So how come you listen to Graham when Rossko and me have also said not to use silicon sealer but you seem to ignore everything we tell you?

Using four alike is essential. Go get the other one.

Probably overtight as already discussed. Does the hose actually fit your tees? There should be a reasonably good seal even before clips are used, else you are wasting (more) of your time. Tees are something from the plumbers merchant again, perhaps? This is simple mechanical assembly stuff, are you really expecting some magic cure for it over the internet?

After I have sorted the above I'm going to start drilling on my inlet manifold of my engine for my screws to go into from the gas lpg
And was wondering how you think my engine would run with 4 x 5mm holes in my inlet manifold for a few days until I get them threaded
It won't. Why not do what everyone else does? Take the manifold off, drill it, tap it and fit the nipples. Then put it back on and connect it to your injectors with the flexible low pressure LPG hose that Tinley Tech will by then have supplied you with?

I still have an air leek and I think its from the inlet manifold even after I added the blue tube
So Looks like a new gasket is in order
Only problem is the car shop in town cant get hold of one and the ford deals want 30.00 quid plus vat
Graham said he once made a gasket out of a corn flake box and it did the job
But I want a second opinion on it?

Thanks

Do you value your own time at all? You'v been messing with this ruined gasket for ten days now ... £30 sounds like a smart investment to me. Haven't you tired of false economies yet?
Toolless wrote:Graham said he once made a gasket out of a corn flake box and it did the job

Then go get one for yourself

although it will need a little care and common sense, that might be a problem here. Take the cornflakes out first, for example.

you know i was going to say last night.

the time you messed about with that knackered gasket and the tubes of sealant,
different types of hose, clips and nipples etc. and god knows how many trips to the auto shop and the like.
it would of worked out so much cheaper to order the hoses, nipples and clips etc online.
and got new gaskets ready for when you striped the parts off the engine.

i think you would of had it running on lpg by now.....

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum but I've done quite a few LPG installs.

I've just speed read this thread and to be honest I'm a little disturbed.

Why are you people continuing trying to assist someone that can't follow basic instructions, can't read a diagram, doesn't even know anything about how the electrical (and perhaps mechanical) side of an engine works !

Surely after a few days it should have been aparent that you are dealing with someone who lacks basic knowledge to carry out an LPG install and at that point shouldn't someone have said to Toolless look you dont have the skills to carry on with this !

I appreciate this forums purpose is to help people but surely there needs to be a certain basic level of competency that must be met first before the forum members can say ok we are ok with helping you with your install.

I mean no offense to you Toolless but I think the reality is that your lacking some basic fundmental knowledge. That coupled with your failure to follow the instructions that your given to me spells recipe for disaster.

As has been pointed out, he will go ahead anyway. The man appears a total dick who, as you rightly point out, seems to not even know how his car works in the first place. Or at least that is the impression he gives, he may be trolling as has been suggested and is deliberately trying to appear more stupid than most people can comprehend. It will end up in one of three ways. He will get it done because he has followed the instructions but has not admitted to it for entertainment purposes, he will do so much damage the car will never run again on any fuel or he will create a catastrophic failure which, if the human race is lucky, will prevent further dilution of the gene pool.

If you mean no offence, you must be the only person on here, the rest of us do. He seems, or makes out, that he is so thick he doesn't even realise when he is being insulted!
