Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Would be good to add all the Countrywide Autogas stations. I see a couple have been added in Westbury and Glastonbury, but they have loads all over West Country and Midlands. See here: http://www.countrywidefarmers.co.uk/pws ... ntentbasic#
Emailed them yesterday, current price across the board is 64.39p inc vat. However all need an account and key. Maybe you should talk to them to see if they would like to keep their stations up to date. Ditto other small independent stations.
Anyway, just added a couple in North Wales I found when I was up there last Autumn, Shrewsbury area (near my folks), Bournemouth where I was last weekend and a couple of other cheap places around London where I'm based.

Interesting ..... my latest bill arrived this morning and since 10/5/2010 I've been paying (and still am paying) 55.40 (exc VAT) which I make 65.095 p/litre inc VAT. Still the cheapest in the Swindon area, but more than you quote..
Countrywide location map is here ...

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I've sent them an email, along with a few other LPG retailers asking them if they have accurate locations I can use to add them in one swoop.Arfa wrote:Would be good to add all the Countrywide Autogas stations. If I don't hear back from them I'll start to add them as and when I have time.

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Yep agreed top work Rich.
Got a few suggestions for you:-
The red LPG tags on the map: we know every tag on the map is an LPG station, so the 'LPG' text in the tag is a bit redundant. I think it would be better to convey other info in the tag. For example, coloured gradient indicating price. Maybe different shape to differentiate big name forecourts, small office hour type places and account only places. Would also be good to show the age of the entry, i.e. how long since price was updated, somehow in the tag.
When you search by location, it would be good to also show a list of all places nearby, which can be ordered by price and distance from location (or some clever ratio of the two). Save clicking on each tag to see current price, info etc.
When you add a new station, you place it on the map and it asks you to confirm its correct in the little white balloon, but then asks you again afterwards in a similar white balloon with horrible double scroll bars. Would be good to tidy this up. (I'm on Windows Firefox 3.6.3)
Any chance of a cut down mobile version for old school phones? Just a simple search by location and list of nearby prices would be cool.

Editing Station details works well .. but still can't remove the duff note ..richard_ha wrote:Done.richard_ha wrote:i'll make it so that the name can be edited tonight, and the option to delete a note so long as it was you that entered it.
Starting to look good ..
Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I thought I'd help you reach a milestone so I've added another 5 stations to bump you up to 100

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
Excellent, sadly, one earlier one needed deleting so we are back to 99!Nath wrote:I thought I'd help you reach a milestone so I've added another 5 stations to bump you up to 100
Which station is it? If you entered the note you should be able to delete it, I'll have a look and see why.Entwood wrote:Editing Station details works well .. but still can't remove the duff note ..richard_ha wrote:Done.richard_ha wrote:i'll make it so that the name can be edited tonight, and the option to delete a note so long as it was you that entered it.

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I like this. I think price would be best, green for the cheapest 3rd, yellow for the middle ones and red for the expensive ones.Arfa wrote:The red LPG tags on the map: we know every tag on the map is an LPG station, so the 'LPG' text in the tag is a bit redundant. This is in the pipelineArfa wrote:When you search by location, it would be good to also show a list of all places nearby, which can be ordered by price and distance from location (or some clever ratio of the two). Save clicking on each tag to see current price, info etc.
I've just tried this on my firefox. Trying clicking the yes button, then the scroll bars appear, but just wait a few seconds and it should add. I thinking clicking the link somehow changes the size of the text in firefox so it looks at though an extra window has appeared.Arfa wrote:When you add a new station, you place it on the map and it asks you to confirm its correct in the little white balloon, but then asks you again afterwards in a similar white balloon with horrible double scroll bars. Sounds like a good idea, I'll add it to the coming soon. It's likely to be the exact same code as the searching by location and getting a list of nearby stations that's under development.Arfa wrote:Any chance of a cut down mobile version for old school phones? Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I like the idea of separating petrol stations & 'man-with-a-tank'. Reason being petrol stations tend to be 24hr and when I'm driving late at night I need to know what's open. The sat nav file I currently use has forecourts in red & 'non-forecourts' in blue - but it is very out of date!richard_ha wrote:I like this. It's the Calor Swindon one ... When I click it I get 4 options: Edit Station, Change price, add note, delete.
if I click "edit station" I can change location and name
Change price works as advertised
add note does just that .. adds another note. but does not allow deletion of the misspelt one !!
Not used delete ...

Re: FillMeWithLPG.co.uk
I added the Westbury, Warminster, Glastonbury and Melksham. Problem with entering a price is that I'm not paying that so it will be different perhaps for each customer?Arfa wrote:Would be good to add all the Countrywide Autogas stations.
