Hello all.
I'm looking for a link cable drawing for my Tartarini sequential LPG. first fitted in 2005 to my 1996 V8 Rangerover. I've got the software and i shall use my desktop so i'm looking to make a cable to connect the ECU's 4 wires (red, white, black and green) to a 9pin rs232. I've found drawings for the earlier sequential cables but their only 3 wire and mines 4.
Can anybody help me at all?

I found a fella selling the Tartarini software on Ebay and he said he would supply the details for the hook up cable. There was a load of stuff on this CD, lots of different software but mine was there. The cable details were in the Tec 99 manual.
I've copied and pasted that section of the manual below. I knew this wasn't right for mine as mine was a 4 wire plug. Hence the question.
Communications
At this point, the TEC should be completely installed and ready to power up. Attach the supplied
Computer Hookup Cable to your computer’s serial (COM1 or COM2) port. The connector may either be a
DB-9 pin connector or a DB-25 pin. Adapters are available at your local computer store if you have the
wrong size. Connect the three loose wires goes to the TEC as follows:
Red to the RXD pin on the TEC
White to the TXD pin,
Black to the GND pin
Computer Hook-Up Cable
If you must make a cable from scratch, use these connections:
DB - 9 Pin: DB-25Pin:
Pin 2 = White (TXD) Pin 2 = Red (RXD)
Pin 3 = Red (RXD) Pin 3 = White (TXD)
Pin 5 = Black and Shield (GND) Pin 7 = Black and Shield (GND)
Jumper Pin 7 to 8 Jumper Pin 4 to 5

It is now possible to change your P.C.’s serial communications port assignment from Com Port #1 to
Com Port #2 without leaving the TEC software.
I could mail you the complete manual if you wish. The manual for mine is completely different, and sadly, no cable details.

The reason why it's only using three connections is that there are the two data lines (Tx and Rx, transmit and receive) and ground, they are not using the 12V supply from the TEC unit. But, as the TEC unit is a 12V device, I would be very concerned with stuffing a 12V data signal into the RS232 port on a computer that is intended for a 5V signal. Maybe it works, but I wouldn't fancy trying it on my laptop!
Well, i'l bow to your experience as i'm not a computer guy by any means. I'm more hardware than software mainly because i'm a toolmaker by trade so all my disciplines have a mechanical bias. My LPG system isn't that bad, tickover is a little lumpy and will stall occasionally when cold, but that's after 25,000 miles of LPG, the engines character will have changed, that side of it is easy for me. All i will add is i did do a suspension repair with some freeware and a home made cable via the OBD plug, and that worked a treat, but i don't know if you can compare the two, or the fact that i'm using a desktop, not a laptop, as 'A', i don't have a laptop and 'B' my car is just the other side of the window!

Is your system a fully sequential with a separate injector per cylinder or does it have a distributor thing that sends the gas to each cylinder? If the latter it's likely to be the same as the Tartarini system fitted to a friends Jag. Periodically his goes a bit lumpy on tickover and sometimes stalls at junctions and the cure is to take the two stepper motors off the gas distributor and give them a good cleaning out with carb cleaner.
I believe it's a fully sequential system but although each cylinder does have it's own injector all the pipes come from a central distribution unit that Tartarini call a gas rail matrix. So i have a pair of injector blocks each having 4 pipes running off.
I take your point though, i have stripped and cleaned these units before as i had a slight gas leak with one of the injectors, but that was when the system was new and one of the leaves wasn't closing properly.
I'll give them all a clean and let you know how i get on.
