I managed to have a chat with the owner of the Four Winds Service Station on the A17 today about their conversion from BP to Jet and the installation of the Autogas Pump.

It seems the conversion was all about price. He was in a three year franchise contract with BP and couldn't get out until last month. Since conversion, he's now selling Unleaded (103.9p) at less than he was buying it for from BP, which forced him to retail at 109.9p. BP also wouldn't let him advertise the Autogas while the franchise was still in place, but because he owns the station, they couldn't stop him fitting it.

Since the conversion, they've really seen trade pick up and they've been really pleased with the Autogas sales. Apparently Jet like to install Autogas where they feel there is a gap in the market and actually feel they will see sales increases as the Oil price starts to climb again.

Either way, they have my business being only 5 miles from my house (rather than 18) and 4p cheaper to boot!
