Morrisons Bristol 44.9 ppl but back n Bicester its now 52.9

There does seem to be a general jacking up of prices by quite large amounts. Total in Grantham that has been 48.9ppl for quite a while has finally given in and put their's s up to 53.9ppl. 5ppl is quite a lot. No one would ever try putting up U/L that much in one hit!

i paid 54.6ppl at K Mugglestone in Boston at the weekend and was 52.9ppl at Shell in the town too. There are hardly any filling stations around there though! i ended up running out 20 miles from Conningsby on my trip up there! Petrol station are far and few between too!

Sad when you consider that rural communities rely on their car's even more. I got to Total on Monday night to find they'd closed early so had to make a very efficient run to Shell Boston (34 miles) to fill up. I have a 70l tank (so 54 litres capacity) and put in 53.69l !!

Fumes or what???

I've been looking out for the price hike which hasn't yet happened here in Huddersfield.

One of the forecourts has put their price up 1 penny to 43.9 to match another in the past couple of days.

Pretty good price for forecourt fuel it seems.

Today my local Morrisons store has matched (and even exceeded Asda) on the cost of all fuel types to the same as other supermarket chains within my area.

Morrisons have never been the cheapest for me to use but now they most certainly are not.

UL went from 85.9 to 88.9 Diesel is now 98.9 from 96.9 and LPG went from 44.9 to 46.9.

Is it true their fuel is processed/delivered by Total?

If so this would clearly explain why there has been such a dramatic price increase.

I'm sure it was Morrisons who claimed they kept the same price for fuel at all their stores. Well they need to get their act together because the Morrisons in St Helens is charging 99.9 for derv and 89.9 for pet. Their gas was 47.9

How mad is this? After putting the Price UP from 48.9ppl to 53.9ppl, the Total Garage in Grantham has put it DOWN again to 48.9ppl. Sales Assistant didn't know why!

I'm not complaining, but it was at 53.9ppl for about a week and a half.

Perhaps customers voted with their feet and sales dropped. We don't do that enough in this country.

doubt it too, seen a few recently putting prices up by about 8ppl then dropping it soon afterwards, probably to do with global gas pricing more likely

i spoke to my local calor filling station at the weekend. They are currently charging out at 58.7ppl!!!! The guy said that the pricing is fixed by Calor and they bought a big bulk of gas when the prices were high and hence its stayed like it. In 3 weeks time it will then roll back. He isnt selling any gas at the mo, cant drop his prices as he is only making 3ppl on it!

Then you get the Glasgow calor depot saying they are charging 40ppl! How the hell does that work then?! i thought calor were a big company! surely they must all get the gas at the same price?

Ill continue using my local at work at 49ppl!

That's interesting because the Total in Grantham is a Calor station, so that might explain the sudden price hike. Since Shell Boston is an AutoGas Site (which is also Calor-supplied) it seems like some of us are rather exposed to the prices Calor get.

Slight O.T. but compare this to Heating Oil (Kerosene 28) that last May was 57.9ppl and last week I paid 29.95ppl you'd like to think that LPG would have made a slightly greater fall (accepting there's a Duty element in LPG that doesn't affect Heating Oil).

:arrow: 41.9ppl down side? There is just the one pump. This site does get busy with LPG refuels & if you get a large tanked vehicle in front of you (motorhome these take forever to fill up!) or a queue and this happens a lot (more so on a Saturday morning) as it is the cheapest LPG for miles around - you have to wait :!:

Only one pump though. Can get busy Saturday morning with taxi drivers filling up for the weekend though!

That's a pretty steep premium for a card payment.

The Merchant Discount Rate is, on average, about 2.5-3.5% for Credit Cards so 42.5ppl would cover a high end rate.

Never found anywhere cheaper than MMS in that area - v handy from M6, too.

I travel regularly from Cumbria to Cornwall and always make sure I'll be nearly empty around j12!

This is true, but its so easy to take cash, you would be silly to use a card unless its an emergency!

Local forecourt prices in Huddersfield are 49.9 now!

Unleaded about 91

I guess the days of LPG being less than half the price of petrol have well and truly gone now.
