BRC Switch

My BRC system has a switch with 5 leds on it which flash and change colour, can anyone help me to decipher what they're trying to tell me?
(it's an old system fitted to a volvo v40)

My BRC system, just about a year old, has 5 LED's ... bottom 4 are either on (green) or off (except for the very bottom one) and are a very rough guide to contents .. ie 4 = full , 3 = 3/4, 2 =1/2, 1 =1/4 .. the bottom light will flash when down to about 1/8.

Top light is the important one IMHO ... RED when running on petrol with gas selected (ie during warm up), GREEN once running on petrol. If it goes red with a contents light on it means a problem, if it goes red with no contents lights on (or the bottom one flashing) it means you've run out of gas ... you also get an audible tone to draw your attention to this. Move the switch from gas to petrol all lights out ( and if the horn stops if sounding).

Only if you tell us more about it. On older systems, there's the level indicator lights, and the one 'mode' light. The mode light changes colour as you say; red = petrol, yellow = thinking about changing over, green = gas. In the event of a fault, various combinations of patterns will flash to show a problem code. There's no buzzer.

As an example, when the ignition is switched off, the green level lights will usually flash a pattern of two outer / two inner lights, indicating "stalled engine" until the gas controller switches off too.

Thank you guys, Rossko that sound exactly right, I just needed reassurance that everything is ok. If it flashes up with any other combo I'll be back for some more help!
