2005 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2

Just looking for some advice here.
Car is a 2005 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 with 67,000 miles on the clock, factory fit LPG system. A few weeks ago when I started it on a cold morning it was not running well and the "Exhaust Emission" warning light flashed a few times and then stayed on, I had managed to cover about 1/4 mile, thought it might be dual fueling so switched over to petrol. Restarted engine and the same again, limping back home, car did not have enough power to pull up a small incline. Managed to switch it over to LPG where it picked up and ran fine. Travelled to work, 50 miles, switching between petrol and LPG and no problems at all. The problem raised its head again on Tuesday after being parked all day, it was very cold, around freezing, again after re-starting engine and all fine. Car has been into the garage who reported back 7 error codes, mainly to do with ignition/misfires varying across all the cylinders and one of the O2 sensors. They are blaming the LPG system but I thought that because it is running fine on LPG and the problem only shows when on petrol it must be something else. Anyone got any ideas?

If you take your car to them and take the list of diagnostic readout report you have, explain what is happening and what this other garage has told you. Tell them you are suspicious that this is not the case and could they please fix the problem.

Very often the LPG mechanic will fix the problem and it will have not been anything to do with the LPG system.

They will understand your predicament because it happens so often.

To me it sounds like a general fault (I am not a mechanic) on the car but don't try and force mechanics that do not want to work on your car to do so.

Can you post the error codes up. Definitely doesn't sound like an lpg problem. I'd guess EGR valve has a problem. Clean it out and see if there is any difference.

Here are the error codes I have just received from the garage, just from the service receptionist and she was not very clear on what they related to but I have put what she said.
P0136 - O2 sensor
P0300 - Cylinder misfire
P0301 - Cylinder misfire
P0302 - Cylinder misfire
P0303 - Cylinder misfire
P0304 - Cylinder misfire
P0460 - Fuel level sensor [both times of the problem there was definitely more than half a tank of petrol and the gas level could not have been too low or the car would not have run on LPG].
I will drop a line or call Millbrook later in the week.

Unfortunately you got a standard cop out answer! This sounds nothing like an lpg fault and you should take any comments that it is with a pinch of salt! The problems described, and the resultant codes, seem to be down to a cold start ignition/fuelling issue. Unfortunately the vauxhall engine management system seems to be highly sensitive to any slight hiccup and then switches to safe mode!

slight hiccups could account for cylinder misfire codes as to detect misfires the ECU looks for subtle variations in crank speed

Does this sytem have LPG injectors? If so they may be playing up. These are the exact syptoms I had on a Frontera when the LPG injectors started failing.

I do not know if it has injectors or not but I would assume so as it is 2005 and fuel injection on the petrol side. I have been running now through three tankfuls of petrol end to end and not the slightest cough or splutter. Now gone back to LPG. I will post any updates.
