i see the aussie gouv are going to start putting a loading of 2.5 cents per year per litre after 2010
but you still getting the grant aid of £2000 per vehicle
aussie gouv also say much the same as brit about price fluctuations ..are due to world oil prices and lpg prices ...and have no control over it.

What other Government measures support LPG use?
• In addition to the current excise exemption, the Government has other programs in place to promote the use of alternative fuels, including LPG.
• The Prime Minister's statement to the Parliament on 14 August 2006 announced a range of measures which are designed to further accelerate investment in alternative fuels and to provide Australian motorists with a greater variety of fuel options. These measures include $766.1 million over the eight years to 1 July 2014 to encourage the uptake and use of LPG as an alternate fuel in private vehicles via a $2,000 tax-free grant for LPG conversions and a $1,000 tax-free grant for new LPG-dedicated or dual-fuel vehicles.

• Under the AFCP, grants of up to 50 per cent of the eligible costs are provided to operators of heavy commercial vehicles to purchase LPG or natural gas (NG) vehicles or upgrade existing vehicles to use LPG or NG. The AFCP commenced in January 2000 and is a $75 million program. Funding for the AFCP has been extended until 2008.
• Under the EGCS, grants are provided for diesel and alternative fuels (including LPG) used by heavier transport vehicles for eligible journeys.
The Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO), Department of the Environment and Water Resources (DEW) is responsible for administering the AFCP. Information about the AFCP is available at the AGO’s website www.greenhouse.gov.au. The EGCS is administered by the
Australian Tax Office (ATO). Information about the EGCS is available at the ATO’s website at
