anyone done the math, know where I can get the info to do the math, to work out the cost between lpg and natural gas prices.

IE: if I got a lpg tank would it be cheaper to run home heating from lpg or mains gas supply

Not quite sure if this is what you're asking, but running a domestic heating system on LPG will cost roughly twice what it does to do the same using oil or mains gas

We're a long way off the gas mains here in the Ancient Kingdom of Dalriada and have a 2500 litre LPG tank in the back garden which fuels both the central heating and the cooker hob. It is certainly dearer that mains gas but I'd dispute whether it is twice as expensive as either mains or oil.

Depending upon how much gas you use, you can negotiate a price with your supplier (Calor in our case) per litre of LPG.

Cheers
Gary

energy from unit volume of gas varies with quality
easiest way is to convert all energy costs to Kw/Hr ;lpg gives about 7/litre and your ng supplier will be able to give you your price per Kw/Hr

after the recent hike in oil prices I suspect oil is now more expensive than ng , but the last time I calculated this a couple of years ago , ng and oil were certainly very similar in price and lpg about double
