Identify ECU to download software

Hi Guys,

I've struggled for over a year now with trying to access my Autogas ECU. I've purchased x2 interphase cables, initially got a 3 wire one, and then got a 4 wire one (my ECU has x4 wires at the reading port).

1. How do I identify which ECU I have?
2. Does Windows 10 or Windows 11 not work with the AEB2001NIC?

I was informed by the installer that I have a Stag system, but to be honest, I don't know what system I have and cannot get a clear response 2 years later.

Describe the ECU, any markings / stickers on the front and any writing on the back. Also describe the switch on the dash.

Even better if you can post pictures of the front/back and switch.

I've used Windows 10 and 11 with most LPG sequential system software.

I've downloaded the AEB2001N IC software and it's not communicating. Is the cable working, yes, it connects to the Versus Gas ECU using the Versus Gas interphase.

You posted a picture of the rear of the ECU, can you post a picture of the front of the ECU?

What error message do you get when it won't connect?

Do you get a different error message if you try to connect with the interface cable disconnected from the LPG system at the car end?

What is the type of connector plug on the car (Molex or Superseal)?

ECU looks identical to https://lpgshop.co.uk/4cyl-ecu-king-aeb-mp48-obd/ without the sticker.

There is no sticker(s) on mine.

The car has a Superseal connector. Interphase simply say NO LPG CONNECTED. When I plug in the USB, it sees it (the USB cable), but not the controller.

You most likely need to use King software of version 6+ . AEB made the MP48 King ECU but AEB also made their own branded MP48 ECU's, software that will work on an ECU wearing an AEB sticker on the front won't work with an ECU wearing a King sticker on the front or vice/versa. However, if it was just a case of only using the wrong software I might have expected a different error message such as 'this software is incompatible with the ECU'. It's worth trying the King software https://lpgshop.co.uk/content/downloads ... .01.00.zip but you may also need to change the pinout on your interface cable...

I don't know the pinout of Versus interfaces with Superseal plugs. If it was the Molex plug with Versus pinout it would be compatible with AEB Molex pinout but Versus Superseal wiring pinout may be different to AEB superseal pinout. The most common LPG system Superseal pinout differs from AEB superseal pinout because the 2 middle pins (coms wires) swap positions on AEB, but don't try swapping your middle 2 pins wiring until you have confirmed doing so would be correct in your case - Some LPG system ECU's that use the Superseal connector have earth or power wire on one of the 2 middle pins.
