Do you need a new entire kit or just replacement injectors and maybe ECU ?

Sorry for the late reply I ever got an email to say I had a reply
Re: Wanted, front tend kit for Jaguar 4.2 xj8 x350
Do you know why the injectors melted - For example, did they go near the exhaust manifold etc? If they were not subjected to heat from the outside then they must have melted due to being subjected to heat from the inside which could only come from the injector coils being heated electrically... Which would point to a problem with either the wiring or the LPG ECU, and since you had 4 injectors melt not just one it would be far more likely the ECU was at fault than wiring because for 4 injectors to melt 4 wires would have to be shorted which seems unlikely.
Many years ago I fitted a new system, it was OMVL but iIrc it was a Piro ECU based OMVL system not an AEB2568 ECU based system, a fault with the (new) ECU caused the injectors to melt by overheating the injector coils. It was a one-off situation and the supplier replaced the ECU and injectors, also they seemed aware of the problem so it seemed they'd had similar happen before. Even at the time it wasn't something that caused me to avoid OMVL etc because it was a one-off event that was rectified quickly by the supplier. But I wonder if you have had the same problem with your now rather old ECU? If that is the case, and given the unlikelihood of it happening again, I would advise a quick check of wiring and assuming wiring is ok just replace the ECU and injectors.
Is your setup Piro based or AEB2568 based? I know N-D points to 2568 but it's worth asking!

Re: Wanted, front tend kit for Jaguar 4.2 xj8 x350
I not very knowledgeable on what it is exactly. I’ve bought 2x4 injectors from e bay for £45 so I’m going to try one of set of four in place of the burnt ones first to see what’s what. The ones fitted are k904055 and I’ve got k904002 and k904003 arriving Wednesday SL I think is on them, I’ll find out and post whatever happens when I try them
Thank you very much for your help and time, hopefully there could be something to learn from my unfortunate situation
Re: Wanted, front tend kit for Jaguar 4.2 xj8 x350
Well, bought them, transferred the valves and burned coiled and put the good ones on to the block. Car is now back to normal
Re: Wanted, front tend kit for Jaguar 4.2 xj8 x350
Great!
It might be worth checking the temperature of the coils on the new injectors in case it was/is an ECU fault that caused the coils to burn.

Re: Wanted, front tend kit for Jaguar 4.2 xj8 x350
Thank you for your help
I’ll get my infrared thermometer on them
Re: Wanted, front tend kit for Jaguar 4.2 xj8 x350
If there's a problem with the ECU 'overdriving' injectors you won't need an IR thermometer to check the temperature, you can tell if they're running too hot by just touching them with your fingers.
Heh, you''re a bit slow at respondimg, Maybe see a reply from you this time next month?
