Tartarini 6 cylinder sequential system

#1 Post by Lexie »

Hello, need some help please. I have a system on my Lexus RX300 that was installed in 2008 and the ECU/dash switch has stopped working. I need to replace ( or have repaired ) the ECU if I can get one and at the moment don’t know if the switch will need replacement or not. I have looked for a new compatible switch but the only Tartarini ones are for newer systems. Similar new switches with 4 wires ( red, black, blue, brown ) and what looks like the same plug of four wires in a row are available and fit quite a few systems. So could the switch be a common one that might fit Tartarini too? Otherwise does anyone have a good ECU, 6 pot, and/or a dash switch please?

If its totally dead which it sounds like your saying it is, then its likely to be missing either the ground cable from the lpg ecu, or the battery or switched live has come disconnected. Have you looked to see if your getting anything on those wires before condeming the ecu/switch?

The most common place to have issues is the inline fuse holder to the battery. Pull the fuse out and inspect the holder, sometimes they go green inside the pins but look fine when you just open the cover. If that feed is missing, all the systems I've seen will be totally dead,

If you do go down the ecu route, then it might help to identify your injectors to check the replacement ecu is compatible. Might also be a good idea to identify the exact ECU you have, to ensure the loom is the same. Some systems will accept different switches, I don't know if yours is one that an alternative will work on. Someone here is bound to reply on that point, but if not a reputable supplier should be able to advise you (Tinley Tech for example).

Thanks for the reply. I did have an LPG specialist put his computer on the ECU which was receiving power but not working and consequently the dash switch was dead too, but might come alive with a good ECU I hope. Will await any further help but thanks a lot.

It seems Autogas 2000 have dropped most of their car related spares now who listed the later of the two (the first one is from them via ebay, but I'd suspect thats not the one your after)

Some versions of Tartarini use the AEB ECU so any AEB2568 based unit could be used. What markings does the ECU have on it?

The top one is like mine but is for newer systems than mine. I did contact them about it previously. I have left a message with Tintech. Thanks again.

I don’t know how to post a photo unfortunately so here goes as not sure which are the relevant numbers.
110R-00-6030. 6AR-016018. DGM 59519 06/03/2003. DGM 59520 10/04/2003. 10R-026097 6Cyl. E3
These are taken from the label on top. Are there any other reference numbers elsewhere on the box?
Cheers.

They are the approval numbers. If it is an alloy box, it should have the model engraved on the back.

Press the full editor and preview button, you should them see an attachments tab below your message. If pics are too big you might have to either reduce their quality or size. Or upload them on imgur or onedrive and link them.

Tartarini switches are not inter-compatible with most AEB2568 switches (AEB119B switches).

The wiring looms for Tartarini AEB2568 and other AEB2568's are inter-compatible but the spec of Tartarini temperature sensors is different to the norm for AEB temp sensors.

In short if you need to replace the switch and wish to keep the Tartarini ECU you will need a Tartarini switch.

Or if you intend on fitting a more standard AEB2568 ECU you may have to change one or both temperature sensors... unless you buy a very recent AEB2568 of a certain brand (such as King) that may allow selection of a couple of different spec reducer temp sensors with perhaps one of the selectable sensors matching the Tartarini spec sensor / Or fashion a circuit that matches output of a standard spec temp sensor using input from a Tartarini spec temp sensor / Or fit a generic spec temp sensor to the reducer. (or inline in the reducer water piping outlet side) If you change the ECU this (latter) option would be the easiest and cheapest way of addressing any temp sensor issues.
