v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
solenoid coil is in a different location.
I will check the wires in the morning as I had to lower the reducer to tighten the gas outlet.
I know the wires were tied on the same bracket as the reducer and I need to check if I have tightened the bracket jamming the wires

Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
On a cool morning when the engine has been stood all night the reducer temp and gas temp readings should fairly closely agree and both be reading close to weather temperature (so maybe 9C at this time of year). Is there a setting for each sensor that sees those readings? Then as the reducer warms up you should see the reducer temp come up first, gas temp should be lower than reducer temp, reducer temp should never read higher than say 95C when the car is fully warmed up and been left idling for a while.
If you short temp sensor wires you will get a constant high temp reading (just for the sensor you shorted) and possibly an error in ESGI software for shorted temp sensor wires.
Other things that can cause incorrect temperature (and other) readings are bad earth/live main power connections or an internal ECU fault (incorrect reference voltage for sensors). No reason to suspect the ECU so far... concentrate on the sensors, settings and wiring first.

Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
hi
this morning I checked just before starting
gas 95.0c
red 87.0c
but these high readings seam too high for early morning.
esgi software has two settings options one for each.
red options=
1.7kohm
2.2kohm
4.5kohm
4.7kohm
10 kohm
gas temp options=
1.7kohm
2.2kohm
4.5kohm
4.7kohm
10 kohm
im not sure which I should set them to?
when I tested the new rail I left the original in place and fitted the new one,i could move the replacement around.when id move it around the car got lumpy nearly cut out but settled down.
I think it may be the wires.i noticed the wires were exposed without any heat resistant harness tape just above the exhaust.
I took it on a run today doing 70/75mph when I slowed it got lumpy again for a few miles.
I think I need to look at all you said sensors earth/live etc

Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
Comparing the settings with your original screenshots from the old ecu suggests the settings were the same as you have now - given they worked on the old ecu, it would be fair to assume those would be the right settings for your sensors.
Yes they are definitely too high, not only that, but the gas temp hotter than the reducer highly unlikely on a cold engine. Also unlikey both would fail at the same time, a dodgy connection or damaged wiring more likely I'd think.

"Also unlikey both would fail at the same time"
that is also something I thought.also it runs fine then judders a bit then corrects itself as if it looses connection then connects again.
I will put new connectors on +/- tomorrow and check other connections

Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
hi
tested temps this morning 95c gas/ 76c red(before engine start)
after starting up i swapped a few temp settings ...
in gas = no change
then in red = drop in temp reading to 65c
it seams the reducer responded to change but no change in gas.
will the faulty sensor on gas affect the red readings?
i will order a gas sensor today.
while checking the wires i heard a hissing and found the gas supply pipes (from reducer)were a bit perrished around jubilee clips.i had to cut an inch off each joint.
the car runs ok but between 1500 & 1900 revs it runs sloppy and hangs a bit

Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
interesting when i went to order the gas sensor i noticed the description of both the parts
show 2.2 kohm.
so i had the reducer settings wrong 4.5 kOhm instead of 2.2 kOhm
https://www.fahrzeugteile-vogler.de/epa ... GI-RED-TMP
and

Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
Has that fixed the temp readings?
Re: v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation
not sure as I altered settings after the car was warm but red temp did drop temp when I changed to 2.2 kOhm
