v6 audi 2.4 feels like fuel starvation

car was running fine but last week when i started one morning it wouldnt rev?
i looked at the fuel gauge and found it had kicked into lpg when cold(within 10 seconds of pulling away)
i switched back to petrol and it started to run ok.
i started to smell gas and just ran on petrol for a few days as i was busy.
found a slight leek on a jublee clip and notice the 13mm gas outlet on vaporiser was slack so i tightened it.
i test ran and found the gas smell has gone.

now the car feels as if its starved of fuel when on lpg slight missfires on pullaway and hesitates on acceleration.
its ok on petrol

The original map you reloaded might be very dodgy. Have you checked temperature readings (do they seem realistic)? Pressure readings realistic? What switchover temp is set?
It's possible to damage a reducer by making it too cold and (besides) if a reducer is too cold in operation it can output liquid gas (instead of vapour) which then evaporates in the rubber gas pipes causing an over-pressure situation (maybe 4 bar in the rubber vapour lines) which can cause leaks.

Fuel starvation shouldn't happen if all parts are good and the map is correct. ESGI won't switch back to petrol if gas injection duration exceeds the available window for gas injection duration but it does generate an error 'gas injectors merged' in this scenario.. Has the ESGI ECU recorded such error?

the esgi software does not store errors.
when I had the first fault where I swapped out the ecu it would say low gas pressure in error mode but it wouldn't store in old errors
switchover temp set to 30.0 c
gas temp 95
pressure 0.96bar

It won't store errors after ignition off but does log errors during a session of driving on gas.. So, after you've noticed the fuel starvation feeling is there an error logged for 'gas injectors merged'?

Gas temp should never reach 95C but it's the reducer temp reading that's of most concern at the moment.. What is the reducer temp reading on a cold morning (ideally before starting the engine) and what is the highest reading you see from it?

You can force ESGI to start on gas (not a good idea) but if it's automatically switching to gas when the reducer is too cold it points to a problem with the combination of reducer temp readings (which might be incorrect due to faulty sensor or incorrect spec sensor set in software) and the temp it's set to switchover at in software (but we know this is 30C so not really very low).

Obviously want the temp readings on screen to reflect the real temperature of the reducer and gas but if the type of sensors is selected wrong in software it won't reflect the correct temperature. With the wrong spec sensor selected in software there can easily be a situation where for example on a cold morning the reducer or gas reading shows 29C when actual temp is only maybe 8C, and then the reducer warms just a little bit up to say 12C the reading on screen is 30C and the system will switch to gas when the reducer is really too cold. The vapour temp reading is only used (on this system) for knowing when the reducer is warm enough to switch to gas. The gas vapour temp reading effects fuelling because hotter gas is less dense than cooler gas so when gas is hotter it compensates for the lower mass of gas being injected by pulsing gas injectors for some percentage longer and vice/versa with cooler gas, so you want this reading to be accurate too.

good clean and spray with contact cleaner makes it run much better

I was wrong took it out today and found it kicked into gas after a few hundred yards.
switched to petrol until it fully warmed.i switched to lpg and found it lumpy hesitated on acceleration.
I changed one of the rails calibrated and its running fine.
I did notice the temps were 95.0c gas and 86.0c red when cold
so I think temp sensor is kaput
is the sensor a t-piece like the one in picture?

It might be the wrong temp sensor selected in the software - Can you locate the one on your system currently and take a photo of it?

It will either be a t piece like that, or may be directly connected into the reducer

I've looked through your other screenshots and photos - you have the same type one selected as before, but no photos of what it actually looks like that I can see.

I hadn't noticed the third connection on that one though - thats the gas temp sensor, not the coolant one.

where is the coolant sensor located?
here is an earlier photo I took where the temp settings are the same as they are set now but the temps different

Don't know for sure with ESGI - somewhere in the water circuit, typically close to the vapouriser if not directly onto it. (the one i linked to above would be screwed into the vapouriser)

Have you got any wires running to the vapouriser other than the solenoid coil? If not, then trace along the water hoses and see what you can find, its got to be in contact with the water to show the temp of the water.

I quick google says it screws in and need a selant applied after fitting
