Most expensive in the UK?

OK, it's on the Isle of Man; although we're officially part of the UK and it's the only LPG station here -0.99.9 per litre. Anywhere else more expensive?

And there was a place in Wakefield "selling" it at 1.04 a litre last time i was up there. Or at least that was the price on the pump weather or not they sold any i don't know!

I guess the other two places that were listed elsewhere on the Island have stopped selling it now?

The argument would be the cost of getting it there but how do petrol and diesel prices compare?

The only time I've been out there was a couple of years ago and it was around 3-4p more a litre in diesel at the time (was using a rental van at the time). I think there is either no mains gas or very little mains gas from what i saw, so a lot of the lpg there would go for domestic use as well.

I'd suspect its transportation costs playing a fair part as well. Hard to say but if you look at the stations on the Isle of Wight they have between 10P-15P more than the other side of the Solent, and they are a lot closer to the mainland.

Not sure what the duty rate is on lpg over there but i have a suspicion it could be different as they are a crown dependency as well.

Petrol is 1.37.9 per litre here and diesel 1.43.9 pl currently. The other 2 places - Ramsey and Castletown both stopped selling LPG approximately 18 months ago so the remaining seller at Union Mills has a monopoly now. Also it's a small market for auto LPG here, although the household market remains relatively large, as said almost no mains gas outside Douglas.

Where in Wakefield? I think I am familiar with all refuelling places in Wakefield and most are very reasonable. A couple of weeks ago I refuelled at a garage just outside Wakefield centre at 66.9p! The most expensive in the area is usually Redbeck on the A638 out towards Doncaster but still 'only' around Wakefield at around 73.9p.

It may not be so expensive now, or may have stopped altogether. Either way when they were selling it for £1.04 the Morrissons store a few miles across town was around 65p a litre.

Prior to this information the most expensive stations I've noted within about 50 miles of around here (South Elmsall Yorkshire) have been on the main roads in Lincolnshire.

Five years since the previous last post on thread, average prices seem to have come down since then.
