Twin tank

#1 Post by robbie1944 »

Hi
I have a Lexus RX300 fitted with a BRC lpg kit which I must say is really good and very satisfied but I would like to add a second tank is there any special that needs to be done as I thought just fitting tees to the filler and exit pipe would be ample.

Any comments would be appreciated

Almost but not quite. The Tees need to incorporate one way valves so you'd need a pair of these (one on the fill line and one on the outlet) https://tinleytech.co.uk/shop/lpg-parts ... rn-t-8-mm/ assuming 8mm pipe. Other than that, just fit the second tank making sure it's bolted down properly.

Oops, mistake. You need the non-return Tee in the outlet but a plain one in the inlet. Give Tinley Tech a call, tell them what you are doing and they'll tell you what you need. The only thing you might find is that when filling you get what is known as machine gunning where one tank fills before the other and the stop valves in the tanks start to open and close.
