Interface wiring?

#1 Post by colin33 »

I went to plug in my 'Motogas' usb interface today only to find all the wires had pulled out. I need to solder them back in but not sure on the colour code. I have red, black, green and white. The connections are marked Vcc, 0+, 0-, GND. The red is still attached to the Vcc. Does anyone know the likely order of the remaining wires?

Black will be ground the other two will be the data lines and you've a 50/50 chance of getting them right. Try them one way and if it won't connect, try them the other way and it should. Getting them the wrong way round won't harm anything.

If it's the same convention as USB, then white is data +ve, green is data -ve, black is ground and red is Vcc.

Thanks for your help guys :-)
I've soldered it all back together but it's not connecting so either I've fried it somehow, or my system just doesn't like it any more...
