Nissan 350z / 350gt?

Hi all,
Does anyone know if the engine in the nissan 350z / skyline 350gt can be converted to lpg?

I been reading that it has very soft valve seats.

Being Japanese it probably does have but fitting a Flashlube kit should get around that. There was someone on here a couple of years ago who had a Murano converted which uses the same engine.

Ok so it can be lpged.
I will try to find details of that person, thanks.

Looking at the engine it's got a wide inlet manifold which covers the whole top of the engine so positioning injectors may be a problem.

I've converted a few Skylines including the monster twin turbo models, few years ago though.

Edit - You didn't ask about Skylines (straight 6 engine) :roll: 350Z V6 Wouldn't be a problem.

Lukie (beginner I think?) did one last year. Andy Evans has done a few, no doubt Andy's are tidy and drive properly on LPG, he's got a vid on Youtube of one of them.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for info.
My jag is still running fine on lpg but has now got a gearbox fault so I thinking of replacing it with a nissan skyline 350gt which has the same running gear as the 350z.
I understand this engine is muilt point injection so looking at removing the jags system and fit it to 350gt. At the monent trying to find out what the max bhp of landi rg1 vaporizer is.

Hi Simon

On paper spec is I believe around 270bhp... but on paper spec doesn't always reflect real world abilities, could do better or worse, I've never pushed one much.

Thanks Simon for letting me know that, the 350gt is about 289 bhp so may not be enough then on full throttle.
I think I have a spare RG1 so could use both if there's room.

Hmm, if you run two reducers in parallel it can be better if they're not quite so pressure stable as the twin stage IG1, where pressure might hold and hold right up until the flow limit of the reducer and then suddenly no pressure... more like on/off pressure than gradual fall off, so can end up with warble between one reducer supplying gas and then the other. Less pressure stable reducers, where flow invoves pressure drop, usually better in tandem setups because the properties act like a built in flow balancing system and warble dampener when multiple reducers are in parallel.
