Wanted Toroidal LPG Tank

#1 Post by ZiggyB »

Hi All,
Has anyone got a 670 x 300 Toroidal LPG tank for sale which must be in date ideally a 4 hole with Multivalve or if not single hole?
A 670 X 270 may be an option but only if it is very cheap as I want to maximise my capacity.
Cheers
Julian

Just in case - 4 Hole tanks don't use multi-valves, they have a separate valve for each purpose (filling, over-pressure relief, gauge/sender, outlet). Single hole tanks use multivalves. If single hole you need to choose between 0 degree (usually but not always external tanks) or 30 degree (usually but not always internal tanks) multivalve mounting.

I have a multihole torroidal tank spare. Don't know much more about it. It was removed from my car on purchase when I changed to a cylindrical tank. Located in Gloucester.

I have a 720 diameter x 270 deep single hole full toroidal tank (95L water capacity) with multivalve, located West Suffolk, still half full of gas so about 35L - make me an offer!

Will check the date stamp but fairly sure it's in date/under ten years old although i've heard it's now done ona general condition rather than purely date basis for inspection purposes. Photos to come later if you're interested.
Cheers,
Dave

I'll get some pics tomorrow Simon - i've been "cyber-marooned" for nearly a week with no internet/phone thanks to a screw up by BT Openwide in the local exchange and only got back into the land of the living today so only just seen your post.

I would describe it as an "external" tank, 4 lugs/bolt-holes at the top and the multivalve located at the bottom of the tank on the outside edge on the "corner" of the sidewall and tread if it was a tyre. Odd description i know but i think you'll get the tyre analogy! :D

Dave

Yeh, it'll be a full toroidal zero degree tank mate, what's the condition like and can you see a date stamped on the tank plate?

You'll have to turn your monitor on its side (or your head!) for the last two as for some unknown reason the phone turned them 90 degrees after taking them "normally".
