I know you called me about this today..

The best way to calibrate LPGTech is the usual way, i.e. not using 'tech mode'. Tech mode is easier for amateurs, handy (and easier) for done in a day installers and inexperienced pros but is unlikely to get as good results as manual calibration by a good installer. Sometimes it makes a proper mess of the mapping. A bit like Stag's ISA2.

There are lots of examples on this forum where all types of auto-tune systems cause problems. A lot of customers visit me to have done in a day and amateur installs (that generally rely on auto tune) put right.. Some done in a day installers sell 'remote calibration' equipment which boil down to remote Windows access, so they can retune systems remotely - but without the car in front of them they can only guestimate what's wrong in the tuning.

You should go to that course then... maybe you'll learn something new and stop criticise system you don't like...

Yes if they'll teach me to suck eggs during the visit! '

Solve all your technical issues related to LPG systems' will be aimed more at others because I don't have any technical issues  Would seem to be particularly relevant for those that always seem to install / sing the praises of self tuning systems (like you?) and they would obviously hope to steer those that currently usually install competitor suppliers systems such as Stag ISA2. I don't fit into those categories but they did phone offering a visit/demo, though they've been meaning to visit again for a while anyway, and there won't be anything I'm unfamiliar with or new to learn and even if there was it wouldn't be anything I couldn't quickly pick up myself... and I'm busy.

I didn't criticise a system, I am generally critical of auto tuning features - This isn't the same as criticising systems, because auto tuning features can be turned off.. I've fitted plenty LPGTech systems. Also fitted plenty of most other systems and sorted issues on just about every system out there.

Auto tuning is aimed more at amateurs and done in a day installers, a decent pro can achieve more accurate calibration, and in less time, including ensuring top end fuelling is correct, and final tuning is then always confirmed before the vehicle is handed back to the customer every time (unlike done in a day installers whom often hand vehicles back to customer still in self tuning mode, which can and does lead to problems - which the original installer can't always sort out - because they don't have any mapping skills - because they rely too much on auto tuning..).

I don't think Tech mode is appropriately named, I suppose it depends on point of view.. In other disciplines a Tech mode would be aimed at more advanced users while Basic mode would be aimed at novices or general users. LPGTech Tech mode does the tuning automatically, little in the way of mapping skills required, so would seem to be aimed more at novices while LPGTech Basic mode aimed more at pros.

Problems with all self tuning systems are due to them not being human, not reading between the lines. E.g. A good pro will check fuel trims etc when gas temp is reading high due to under bonnet heat soak of gas temp sensor but will realise that being parked up for a while led to that exaggerated gas temp reading so may adjust temperature compensation rather than mapping, but the computer will adjust mapping regardless - just one of the reasons why auto tuning leads to those unintuitive and unrealistic spikes and troughs on maps. There are plenty problems with self tuning systems, they're poor substitute for proper calibration by a good pro.

I sometimes fit the same systems you seem to get touchy about if you think are being criticised... But any system is just another system to me, I don't need to get touchy about any system because I fit many systems. Sometimes criticism reflects more on the person doing the criticism - Do you always fit systems with auto-tuning? Do you like any systems that don't have auto tuning? Are you any good at manual calibration (if so why seem to always prefer self tuning systems on forum)? Would you hand a vehicle back to a customer while still in self tuning mode?

Would welcome a demonstration of Tech mode, ISA2 or any other self tuning facility but not on an easy install where I'd expect it to achieve acceptable results most of the time.. Would be interesting to see how it would work on something a bit different, e.g's: The Mazda I just converted which switches between sequential and full group injection / Something that runs open loop much of the time like some turbo'd and supercharged vehicles.

Not even a 2 page essay here but enough to put you in your place with your one liners.

Hands up, my posts on all sorts of threads on this forum are often long but 'thanks for a very thorough reply' is recompense for good natured me. I suppose if you know a lot on a subject you can write a lot, I get some custom from forum readers who've noticed I know my stuff, recompense for business me.

You're coming across a bit friendlier this stint on forum, poking a bit of fun etc, so I'm OK to poke a bit back then.... You reckon sticking mostly to one liners, having quick pops at others hit n run style, coming across as has having an area of expertise that's mostly about self tuning systems, not bothering replying to points or questions... is better than writing long, informed, explanative replies?

Stick your oar in mate, you were one of the others who moans about long posts in my mention but those I help don't seem to mind long posts with technical content above Roger Red Hat and Billie Blue Hat. Technical stuff probably won't make for easy reading? I got 2 books at Xmas, Steven Hawking's Brief History Of Time and Steven Hawking's Briefer (simpler) History Of Time... The former is most detailed, both use a lot of words to describe a lot of technical stuff or couldn't have explained the concepts. Both you and Hardcorepit will (should) understand what I've written above, people I've helped on other threads have understood.

Thanks for wishing me well, I'm interested in quantum physics but that's not going to happen, pro field of expertise is LPG.

They should offer you a partial Nobel prize already, the Nob prize.

Your comebacks aren't getting any wittier, are making less and less sense, I've lost interest.
