Re: LPG below 60p
Yes. Seems silly of them to advertise an incorrect higher price though
Re: LPG below 60p
all kind of suggestions that the place may be changing hands, perhaps it has and they thought they'd up the price. It wouldn't take long to realise that trade would dissappear at 51p, there being a host of other sites locally between 43 - 46p

Re: LPG below 60p
All good seeing petrol is going up above diesel in some places
Re: LPG below 60p
Noticed petrol is still rising and LPG staying the same. Does this usually happen around this time of year?
I know LPG is meant to follow petrol. But it really doesn't.
Also a couple chaps I spoke to say its usually a bit cheaper again in winter as everyone is using more gas so companies try to lower prices.

Re: LPG below 60p
If anything it usually goes higher in winter due to demand not lower (lpg that is). Think other factors are playing with the petrol price, its not so much petrol going higher its Diesel dropping if anything - Asda at High Wycombe today 114.7 for petrol and diesel, or 49.7 for LPG.

Re: LPG below 60p
Its at the lowest I've known in the time I've been on lpg as well. Have filled up cheaper in Birmingham a couple of times, but its negated by the extra hassle of driving through Birmingham when on route elsewhere. Does show both the local BP are still 65.9 even though the other two shell stations are down to 55.9 though. No wonder BP are removing pumps due to lack of demand.

Re: LPG below 60p
I've even said to my Local texaco If it was more inline with competition IE not 60p a litre but say 45p a litre I'd use them due to the opening hours. But give that the one I use regular is open till 7pm and 43p its hard for Texaco to compete.
That and I just think they don't care.

Re: LPG below 60p
some service stations are below the 50p level, but not very many. Even those round near the cheap Birmingham outlets don't drop as low as the basic depots, but then they don't have the same overheads, so you can't really expect them to.
All depends how much you like getting rained on and how flexible you can be with the time you need to fill up really.

Re: LPG below 60p
Asda York is 49.7p at the moment. First time I've seen it below 50p in this area.

Re: LPG below 60p
It also depends on where they get their supplies from and what deal they have been able to negotiate. Texaco stations are supplied by Flogas and they have a choice of agreeing a price that is fixed over a period, which is good if they expect prices to rise, or they can take it at the current rate which means it might be cheaper but can fluctuate quite a bit.Brian_H wrote:some service stations are below the 50p level, but not very many. Re: LPG below 60p
Filled up with LPG this morning
36.37 litres @ £0.499 = £18.15
25.87 MPG
207 miles on last tank
£0.087 per mile
So from a website the cheapest petrol around here is £1.137L / £5.169 gal and diesel £1.127L / £5.12
So for a Petrol to be cheaper would have to beat 59.41 mpg and diesel would have to beat 58.89 mpg
(If I got my maths right lol)

Re: LPG below 60p
That's pretty much how I see it too. As LPG is way under half of what petrol is I think I last worked out that diesel would need to be averaging 68mpg and petrol would need to be 66mpg.
Although that should have changed with diesel being the same cost as petrol.
Either way LPG doesn't really have to be that efficient as its so cheap. So long as I average above 20mpg I'll always beat 50mpg equivalent due to it costs 43p a litre.
