Vauxhall Signum 2.8 turbo

#1 Post by beamerguy » Thu Oct 05, 2017 6:31 pm

Hiya guys, im planing on converting my signum 2.8 turbo to lpg, I can get my hands on a Stag 300-6 system.
1. Is the above system suitable for the z28nel engine?
2. Ive noticed from wiring diagrams that it has a fuel system pressure sensor, does it require a fuel sensor emulator or a fuel return line if not already fitted?

Cheers, Mark.

Makes for better readability to answer your questions in reverse order.

2. Out of Stag ECU's only the Qbox/Qmax ECU's feature a built in petrol pressure sensor emulator, Stag300's are not Stag Q systems. But I doubt the car will have a fuel pressure sensor and even if it does there are many types of electronic pressure sensor emulators or the preferred way isn't to emulate pressure but to fit a fuel return.

1. The ECU itself is suitable but the ECU doesn't comprise a system, the other components (injectors and reducer) are in most cases more important than the ECU. The engine won't be massively demanding in terms of injectors and reducer but some of the components often sold along with Stag systems would be marginal on this engine. You may find singular injectors, perhaps even with straws (instead of normal manifold 'spud' nozzles) would be the best idea for this engine.
